Towcat... when you mean its cast for the 5.13 how does that affect the fitment of any other size? Wouldn't the overall ring diameter be the same?
Also, on the randys site they show different gears for a bigger or smaller carrier. Was this an option when you tried to fit the dodge gears? They...
My soon to be service truck has a 5.13 gear set in the rear differential. I would like to swap this set out for a taller set because max speed is about 50-55 right now.
I have seen several posts and threads about nobody making parts for these early dana 80's, but I have found Yukon gear sets...
Ok thank yall,
I actually wont have much room, Im mounting a service bed and crane on the truck.
One thing I have found with this tank is it doesn't have a lock ring, its a plastic tank with a screw on cap. I have found other posts online with the f-450's from 90's to 96 ish with the same...
Hello All,
It's been about 7 years since ive had an IDI, and this weekend I picked up another. Its a 1991 F-Superduty (1.5 ton) 7.3 with 5 speed and extended frame for an 11ft bed.
There is no bed on it, I bought it for my service body to sit on it..
This truck has a 19 gallon tank in the...
Alright I went home last weekend and started up my truck using one of my dodges batteries. Took a lot of cranking but eventually fired up and ran good. goin down again this weekend to get it all buttoned up so I can get it inspected and streetable.
My near future plans are to put the sa-200...
I cant figure out why everybody says Dodge trucks suck. This is my second and all my buddies have them and most people around here. Rarely does anybody have truck problems. They are only crap when people dont take of them and abuse them. IMO all truck bodies will last the same, just depends on...
Wait... So why are you getting rid of your dodge? That makes no sense to me. Trade a truck that is proven to last, for a truck that seems to be a hit and miss. And by the way, I have helped with a lot of head gasket changes and the damn 6.0, Cab has to be pulled. Royal PITA. You must bleed ford...
Wow so there is my answer. Battery was not up to 7 volts on charger even. Much less sitting there. Well I know realize I shouldnt do that to the alternator!! Thanks, I will keep yall posted and try to have my dad put one in this week.

Okay Thats kind of what I was thinking... but, How was fuel getting to the injector caps? Was the fuel pump pumping fuel through the IP but not at the pressure to open up the injectors?
Thanks,
-Lance
Ok I spent some time working on the ford Saturday and made some progress. I got everything buttoned up and ready to go I think. One problem is I didnt have any good batteries so I had to try by pull starting.
anyways.. I couldnt get it to pop off. I did see a small fuel leak coming from a cap...
Well its kind of a long story... But for some reason my motor seemed to have ventilation problems and it seemed to really start when the turbo was put on so I decided to get rid of it and get back to a reliable easy to work on truck. My dad gave me his old cummins so now if I have to pull...
Ok I finally had some time and put the motor back in and I am going to try to get it running tomorrow.
I cannot find my cdr.. so what should I do about that? how should I plug the hole in the valley pan?
I pulled the turbo off this and sold it, so now it is N.A.
Thanks,
-Lance
Wow. All I know is everybody on here had the patience to help me along with my build, and helped me learn even being a little younger than most on here. Thanks for everything.

I have seen propane on these idis and it does lower EGTS a little and has a little more power, but I would never advise doing both on a one of these. Comp. ratio is much higher and less room for fuel in my opinion.
