E4OD help!!!!
My bet is flex plate. The rubber in it makes them sound that way when they give.... the good part is..... it wasn't a clank!! Had exact same sound in a boat once. -cuss Nice thing is, they're usually easy to replace and comparing parts prices, relatively inexpensive.- CaptTom

FACET/PUROLATOR PUMPS
Not that interested in a dual system, if we really needed big pump power, AIRDOG makes plenty for high pressure/volumes. This is a relatively inexpensive way to get reliable performance... not something I'm really fighting. My whole synopsis is to properly install a good pump, considering...- CaptTom

FACET/PUROLATOR PUMPS
Thanks FORDF250HDXLT for the data pages. I already had the specs page from Purolator... it doesn't answer pump head type, lift of 10' as I explained earlier is in direct conflict with the Purolator FAQ's page- I posted link and as also stated earlier- they are built for thinner fluids as you...- CaptTom

WOW!!! I guess I'm just lucky! There's got to be an out of tolerance issue beyond some simple lip. Anyone miked them yet? Out of round?? Have an old one laying around that wasn't necessarily bad but replaced just cuz?? This is gettin' beyond the inconvenience of sanding out a few lips. BTW-...- CaptTom

Thanks for the reply. The reason I'm searching for accurate data is for the very reason you've outlined. In a previous thread, it was suggested the mechanical lift pump may be putting out an estimated 15% more fuel than the electric pump. I'm not so worried about psi. PSI does not...- CaptTom

No, the easy way out is to be up front with the consumer. Let them know in every conversation and with a note in each delivery the minor modification required for smooth transitions. Huh! I used viton, old caps and no lube(at first-then I just dabbed on engine oil off the dip stick to the damaged leakers).... no seating issues or leaks since. No problems cracking caps either without the extra height of an o-ring. Am I reading this wrong???? cookoo :dunno- CaptTom

Normally I'd agree with getting the better ones... but in this case, the recommended sanding off the knife edges, or using the old ones won't be any worse than getting new caps. Unless the caps and nipples are cracked/damaged, reuse the old and replace with the kit you have new. In this...- CaptTom

Optikal.... you ain't the only one. I had similar troubles.... not the old used caps, but my excitement... didn't lube a one, cut two more forcing 'em on etc. "I know what I'm doin'!" "Jes gett'r dun!" "Yeeeeah!" Those o-rings are more sensitive than I thought they'd be, even Vitons...- CaptTom

HERE COMES THE DEAD HORSE!!! From the Purolator FAQ pages of all their pumps: We recommend that you mount the fuel pump no more that 12 inches from the fuel supply (gas tank). All our Electronic fuel pumps will push fuel rather than pull fuel. Some pumps only have suction limit of 12 inches...- CaptTom

Ok... not trying to beat dead animals here, but I just found another pump with nearly the same specs as the 40222/3's, but pumps another 15 gal/hour over the 30 we've been buying. It's also build by FACET/Purolator. It's a FRC-8-2. Basicall the same pressure, a little higher, but it pumps more...- CaptTom
