    87 Crew Cab w/ 6 doors

I would've done captain's chairs for the first two rows and a bench in the back. Imagine how much more twisted up the looks on folks faces when they see the truck and then watch you walk from the driver's seat all the way to the back LOL

    Keeping motivated

+1 on finding a shop with a medium duty truck "rack". Might be a little more coin, but even so it's worth it. Usually those guys know a little something more than your average lube station. I can't fit on any alignment ranks around here so I only have one place that can align the truck since...

Any tips for installing a new rear fuel tank?

Connect the filler tube first, then your source and return lines, vent and electrical plug. Lay on your back and use your knees to hold the tank in place while you get the bolts started on the straps. DON'T kink your lines. Tug on the source/return lines as you're raising the tank into...

    Is My IP Turned Up?

I PM'd Mel when I turned the IP down. He said backing the fuel off a flat can affect timing up to a full degree, so my timing is probably closer to 10* now. Hoping this will all work out until I can get a timing light adapter or my own Tach-N-Time. Hopefully next year I'll get to do a baby moose...

Calling all WVO users, your feedback is appreciated.

The mess of wires can be easily dealt with by shealthing then. Maybe use a ethernet connecter between the guts and the display? I think wiring is less of an issue than the size of the box. It would be more difficult to locate on top of the dash, particularly with those of use that have other...

    2016 MOB Oilburners IDI rally.

Up, if your worried about steep grades, avoid most of 64 and 77/74. People complain about Ohio being hilly, but those people are from Florida LOL

    Saved by IDI

Bruiser eats fender mounted relays. Maybe over a dioxin in the past few years. Cables REALLY need replaced... Watched the cable ends at that relay get red hot last week before the hard plastic exploded.

Ha! 71 is considered pretty flat from Cinci to C-Bus.

    Is My IP Turned Up?

For sure. I can still get up to 1200*, but unloaded I have to really try. We'll see how she does with the 5'er in a few weeks.

    Is My IP Turned Up?

I guess that's what someone else decided to do as well. EGT's look more like they should now. Took the 3/4 mile or so 5% grade (I'm guessing) at 70 mph and stayed below 1200*. Holding steady at 70 mph EGT's are about 650-750*. When I took the large backroad hill that is a part of my route...

Good point on the D80, forgot about that. Did the 2wd mono beams have panhard bars? I never remember seeing any, but I've never crawled under someone's work truck either :D

    Is My IP Turned Up?

Went ahead and turned the fuel screw counter clockwise today after changing the oil. Had to readjust idle speed as it idled a bit higher than before. Making a trip across the county to visit my folks shortly and have a decent hill to climb at 70 mph, so we'll see what she does. Curious...

    Death Rattle

Check the driveshaft and pinion/yoke while you're at it. The earlier 10.25 rear ends only have about 1.25" of spline engagement on the yoke/pinion and they tend to back off. Literally just tightened mine back up and the new u-joint is already a bit gravely on the shaft side. Can't decide...

    Nitrous Test: Engine Post-Mortem Findings

Propane has nearly the same characteristics as gas. Burns at about the same temp and as a liquid it's nearly as viscous. Runs cleaner and is a bit more efficient as I've understood it.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Got another piece of the puzzle installed today after a 7 hour fight. First, the Reese 30035 is a sad, pathetic replacement for the old universal 5th wheel hitch installation kit (which I have on Bruiser). The rails are just barely not wide enough to wrap around the frame (the frame mount...

    Is My IP Turned Up?

She's N/A and will probably never see a turbo until I can do a DT360 swap way down the road. Bruiser will definitely get a fresh turbo IDI though :sly If Mel doesn't chime back in tonight then I'll call the shop tomorrow. I'd like to turn the IP down tomorrow as long as it won't retard my...

Dealer installed air conditioning. Who has it?

I'm guessing he wants to mount it for on board air? The sandan's (sp?) are easy to get for A/C. Usually the only 2 times someone wants to use a York for is a stock restoration or as an air compressor.

How long to swap out injectors

I just removed all my lines with a 5/8 line wrench :dunno Going to have to reprime all of them anyway. Just wrap a piece of tape around each one to label it or use a sharpie/paint pen and mark then with ticks.

    Is My IP Turned Up?

I may still have to turn the fuel down. Had a decent little load on the way home with all the tools and it still got up close to 1200* without doing much. Runs cooler now at cruise and during slow acceleration, but foot in the floor and watch the needle soar!
