Realistic budget of a 2wd -4wd and goodies build

Warmest mine has been woke driving was this past weekend. Cruise set at 65 on a 90*+ day in a strong head wind. Got to, I'm guessing 212* (almost 215*) and then settled back down around 200* and a little less once back out on the flats.

Backing them up is just trial and error. I learned to back "bumper pull" trailers like a boss, then put a hitch on the front of the gas truck to move short trailers easier. A 5'er or gooseneck follows about the same principles as any trailer. Shorter trailers respond quicker and can take some...

    Logger upgrades

Is this one of the OBS hangers? And do you happen to have a link to the fabricator? I believe I had it before my phone decided to wipe all my bookmarks

Only real downside I've experienced with a 5'er has been turning radius while backing up. That and turn around space at home, but those are really small prices to pay. Ours had no A/C and I still need to cut the rubber roof that was installed before we bought it to install the 3 vents/fans. We...

    Tow mirror measurement

Rivnuts suck here. Someone did that on my truck and the door skin rotted out around them. I used large fender washers inside and out with matching rubber washers on the outside to seal between the washer/door skin.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Last weekend I reworked the craptastic intake tubing with stuff I had laying around. Managed to get EGT's down a bit and the metal 90* elbow that was on the intake when I bought the truck is gone and will no longer fall off while driving. Yesterday I cut the soup bowl out of the...

I'm still dead set on one day picking up a Heartland Road Warrior toyhauler, but even the unsold 2 year old dealer models tend to cost more than my house LOL

    Tow mirror measurement

I'll try to remember to grab some tomorrow, but that part of the frame can be bent to fit easily.

Working on my wipers... No delay function.

Did you replace it with a wiper motor meant for delay? Also make sure that 8ga ground cable is on the wiper motor bracket and grounded to the intake.

I have a 7400 +/- lbs 5th wheel. Vintage, needs some things done to it that I'll be doing either this fall or next spring. I'll sell it to you for a steal if you're still interested in one next year :D It's just heavier than I want to deal with.

    Bullnose mirror swaps

Mine is also the large factory bottom bracket, on the Enterprise anyway. Bruiser's is just the universal adjustable arms mounted where the bottom of the factory sport mirror bracket bolts. And like freebird, I plan on the Enterprise being a Bullnose eventually. He's way ahead of me though.

    Bullnose mirror swaps

Mine are Grote's that came from a seller in ebay. Got both sets a few years apart for about the same price (cheap) and the arms seperate. They are lighted on the back and have a heating grid in them as well.

    Weird steering and hub issues???

Might be a little off into left field, but with the steering wheel unlocked, how much play is there between the 2 halves of your steering shaft? I have a lot of play in mine and on a straight/flat road is fine, but anything else and the front tires try to follow ruts and grooves in the asphalt.

    Frozen transfer case shifter

I loath the OBS press down style.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I tore the front yard up with mine. Gloss over of you don't like long stories, lol. So since All State still hasn't called me about fixing my culvert (after another one of their customers hit it and now it doesn't drain), my yard is soggy all the time. Haven't had time to ride them about it...

    Frozen transfer case shifter

1354 is B2 and Ranger size. Pre-97/98 was the New Process cars and the B&W 1345 and 1356. The 1356 has that terrible shifter that you have to press in to get to 4lo.

    Pump/Injector issue

Russ is a helpful guy. Got a rebuilt set of BB's and return kit from him and my IDI is no longer in danger of fubaring itself LOL Runs sooo much smoother.

    Frozen transfer case shifter

Bruiser's t-case is like that (B&W 1345). There must be a bushing or something worn out because the notch in the shifter plate (on the linkage) doesn't force me to move the shifter to the left. I just say it's perfectly worn since from a stand still I can slap it all the way back to 4lo. When...

    My Big Blue Ox build....

At that point you could run 19.5's or 20's. If you go 20's you could get some 40+" surplus Michelins LOL

6.9 headache rack and nhrda pics

IIRC, that's a K700. Now-a-days they are long nose with a 2.1M cab and integrated sleeper and look a lot like the T660's. They redubbed them T700, but T2000 for the 2000 model year. They've got mostly the new T680's, T880's and T660's rolling off the line.
