    ZF-5 problem

You would want to have all the basic overhaul stuff. Syncro kit, bearing kit, and clutch kit. As far as stuck in reverse that would have to be determined once it was taken apart.

I'm not sure what the specification is but that's not bad. It would be nicer if there was not as wide a gap between the lowest and the highest readings. I will try and find an official spec tomorrow.

    Question on Dana 60s

I will show my ignorance here. It appears shackle reversal is putting the shackle in the original solid position at the rear of the spring and vice-versa? That being the case can you mount the shackle to the original rear spring mount on the frame?

I was going to suggest a relay for that pump myself.

Helps, I have goofed up. Electrical advice

Are the headlights working or is it just what is controlled by the ignition switch? If the headlights don't come on it may just a bad connection at the batteries. If it is only what is run by the ignition switch then a schematic and that volt-ohm meter will be handy.

18 Gauge is pretty fine wire if you are running too far. You might google it there are charts that give you length/gauge/current information. Does the fuse blow only after running a while or does it blow immediately now?

After a 20 minute conversation, we finally agreed to a redo. I do a lot of business with this machine shop in the course of my business. It would be a good idea for them to take care of me. I did order the Ford factory bushings off of eBay this morning F3TZ-6207-A rather than the Powerstroke...

I got the rods back from the machine shop on Friday. I'm not exactly pleased. They look good but they measure out way above spec. According to the book, the Inside diameter should be 1.0386. The largest one is measuring 1.311 and the smallest 1.309. I had a bad feeling about putting new bushings...

Your making progress. Sounds to me like you have some injectors stuck at cold start. When you get some known good injectors you will have a better idea. A more accurate compression test will be will tell you a lot more. How old is the fuel? Fresh fuel would be a must for me.

I see Justin narrows the Powerstroke rods for our engine so I figured the pin bushing would probably work if narrowed. Except that the rotating assembly would need to be balanced I might have considered those narrowed rods. I went ahead and ordered a new oil cooler from Ford since the other one...

F3TZ-6207-A Is the number tor the IDIT piston pin bushings. According to my ford guy, there are still some available around the country. No longer available from Ford. I talked to the machine shop this morning and they did install the 7.3L Powerstroke bushings. he said he narrowed them by about...

Thank you. I had ordered some Clevite bushings that Cataloged for the IDIT but they are for the NA. I called Clevite and that was the only bushing they had for a 7.3L. I decided to let the machine shop find them since they are going to press them in and size them. They had the same problem. I...

Does anyone have a part number for the piston pin bushing for an IDIT connecting rod?? Would a 7.3L Powerstroke bushing work?

30 Seconds cool down time is not enough time once the starter starts heating up. Cool down time should be more like minutes not seconds.

    FS6 compressor rebuild help?

Replacing everything is the way to go. Like you said it gets really expensive. If I have a repair like that here in the shop I won't warranty it unless we do the whole system.

    FS6 compressor rebuild help?

All you can do is continue. The whole system is going to need a flush. it's very hard to get a contaminated system clean.
