    Front and rear seal

Care to give details on what exactly you did to the KDP? I like the looks of it better than a little tab of sheet metal that most guys use.

    fyi 3g swap people.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my 94 had a 3G from the factory. I think the Powerstroke ones were different though.

Feeler for a 5 speed 4x4 conversion kit

My 94 sure has a removeable hump, as did the 85 I parted out.

    Champion Radiators for the IDI

I would highly recommend getting the 3 core Champion rather than the 2 core. I put a 2 core in last summer. Unloaded, its fine. When I hooked up to a 5k trailer, I was watching that temp gauge awful hard on the small hills and it wasn't even that warm out (like 70 F). I'm sure in the middle...

    Thanks for checking.

    Wanted: 6.9 injection pump core

I just found out that the core I sent in to Oregon Fuel Injection is seized and I won't be getting my $250 core charge back. If I can find a pump to buy, and send in as a core, I could get the core back. So if anyone has a pump that they would be willing to part with I would be interested. It...

Newbie introduction - Bought '83 F250 and broke down on the way home

Definitely throw a seal in there and see what happens. I've never heard of a failing ip blowing that seal out. Not saying it couldn't be the case.

Cold start issue. Could use a little advice.

One bad glow plug could easily be your problem. The gpr reads resistance, and one bad can cause high enough resistance that it thinks that the plugs are hot when they're not. I'd pull the bad one, if it's not a beru then replace the set. If it is then replace just that one.

    Motor died suddenly!

The best way to quickly test a fuel shutoff solenoid is to turn the key on, and rapidly disconnect and reconnect it. You can hear it click, and even put your finger on the top of the IP housing and feel a tick as it moves. I like to loosen all of the injector lines at the same time. My...

    Webshots/Tech article ALERT!

I got just about everything in PDF form tonight. 112 files. I am glad that someone else has it too, so its in more than one place. Sounds like your method might be cleaner. I got just about everything, even though most was in photobucket anyway. And stuff that was all text, that way if...

    Webshots/Tech article ALERT!

Im going to give this a shot. I have a really busy week this week, but I think I should be able to stay up tonight and get it done. I also would appreciate a link to the wikis, never used them. I've got an idea of a way we can have the PDFs of everything available for anyone to download when...

    Webshots/Tech article ALERT!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned just making PDFs of everything. Open a thread, hit print (with one of dozens of free PDF writers) and a few seconds later you have it all in one easy file. It would be a bit more cumbersome, but the PDF could be then emailed to others who need the information...

Important Info About Champion Radiator Caps

In case he doesn't see this, he's running Evans waterless coolant. I think it has a boil point of 350 F or so, without any pressure. Pretty nice stuff.

Important Info About Champion Radiator Caps

Boneheads doesn't begin to describe it. You should have seen them monkey around trying to test my alternator. For anyone else looking for the same info, the NAPA part number for the stant cap mentioned above is 703-1696, and the 13 lb cap is 703-1697.

Important Info About Champion Radiator Caps

I just picked up a 13 lb cap from NAPA made by Stant. I also looked at the 7 lb which looked about the same, but it is definitely way longer, even with the spring compressed, and won't fit in our radiators. Does anyone have a part number for the 7 lb cap? I was wanting to try one based on the...

    Oil Pressure

The location that you read your oil pressure from makes a huge difference. Mine used to be tapped in down by the oil filter, I'd see 40-45 psi at speed, 25 hot idle, and in excess of 60 cold. Now, it's tapped into the turbo supply line, 25 psi at speed, 15 idle.

    Think I killed the IP

Well I pulled the pump this afternoon, input shaft is broken. I did some reading in this thread http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?59938-Truck-died-again&highlight=vent+wire which gave me some ideas. I pulled the fuel screw cover, and looked in as I rotated the head, nothing...

    Think I killed the IP

I guess I should clarify, the carter pump I have is a factory style lift pump running off the cam.

    Think I killed the IP

It is possible the lift pump is causing the trouble, but I kind of doubt it. It is a 6 month old carter with about 3000 miles on it. I did verify that while cranking, it is putting out fuel (by catching it in a bottle), as well as once all the lines were hooked up it was making 4 psi.

    OBS and BODY lift ???'s

My 3" body lift kit off ebay for $120 came with an extension piece that works fine. So if you're buying a kit that should work for you, if not maybe you could buy it separate.

    Think I killed the IP

The truck and I got a ride home on a wrecker the other night. On the way into work I noticed low fuel pressure (as in zero psi) and it running rough. Well it was cold and I didn't have a spare fuel filter with me so I went on to work. On the way home the same thing was happening and it just...

Need some advice on 1/4 tank fuel problem

I think the sump will work fine, but it's overkill and not really necessary. All your lift pump, OEM or transfer or some other electric, wants is fuel to pump. It doesnt care if it's coming out of the factory pickup, a sump, or a 5 gallon can in the bed, it just needs fuel to pump. Line size...

Important Info About Champion Radiator Caps

Thanks a ton for posting this. I've sprung a few coolant leaks since dropping in the champion, and I have the cap stamped 1.1. Should I get a cap from ford dealer or is one from Napa just fine?

    Dash grounds

My tachometer shows 0-100 or so rpm at idle, and at higher rpms sometimes bounces around. It quit working, I drove for 6 months or so with no tach, and then put a new sensor on, and its done this ever since. I figure its either a bad sensor, or bad ground. I can't find anything under the dash...

    Checking fuel pressure.

Thats where you want to tap in for your pressure. I have always read that you should see 4-7 psi out of your lift pump. Once I put a gauge on (mine is in the cab), I have never seen more than 4 psi and usually only 2-3, even after changing out 3 different Carter fuel pumps in an attempt to get...
