Turned my IP up 2 flats..

Honestly if it needed turned down I would, I won't even drive this truck if it's supposed to rain. I thought when I saw it on craigslist it was going to be a roller with no engine and trans and sure enough it had both but the previous owner knew nothing and had a good 7.3 with some interesting...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

Gotcha. Well a few things I've learned now that I also did this to my dads work idi with him. 1. I have no idea how many flats I turned my truck up. What I thought was my vice grips slipping or not being lined up right and turning air may have been a turn or two so I'll say I turned it from 12...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

It doesn't leak THAT bad but I didn't catch as much fuel as I thought I did with my paper towels and there's a nice mess on the floor now under it I forgot to clean up and my valley pan didn't exactly dry up yet after 1 day of driving it so I gotta dry that off too. That stupid screw is awful...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

Eh its really not "dog" status now it's actually pretty quick. I just was shy to give the skinny petal to it until I watched my temps but today I had more time to drive longer and it's definitely awake now. It wasn't even that it was awful before it just had to be at 1500rpms when you went into...

    It's 4.10s already

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

It just almost feels like it adjusted the fuel up the whole way above the rpm curve because of the downshifting / compression breaking not slowing it down as much but maybe I'm imagining that part of things just because the other changes. I didn't think the part about the truck having a side...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

Yeah, it for sure has more power it even sounds different. It's got way better throttle response and seems to be able to accelerate better at low RPM as well. I'm just not sure if the more power I'm seeing is because half throttle now is where 3/4 throttle used to be in terms of fuel. It doesn't...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

I guess my only worry was going to be with the fuel turned off if I'm going up a long hill and letting off on the throttle by say 1/4 to keep egts in check that it's going to end up being slower than what the truck was with the fuel down two flats and the petal smashed to the floor. But I don't...

Turned my IP up 2 flats..

Before I link the video and post my questions I just wanna give a tiny amount of backstory as to why I turned Ernest up 2 flats. The truck always does pretty good for being n/a, I think the banks power pack air cleaner and the larger exhaust/ better Y pipe whether it came from banks or was a...

    87 F-350 Crew Cab,6.9, 5 speed ZF, 2wd, $3200 OBO

I showed my wife as we were just out in the stroudsburg area for a wedding but I already have 3 old trucks that are sticks and as soon as she saw it was a stick I got a big no lol.

    True Dual Exhaust

I thought about doing that, I just have a strange feeling nothing is coming apart from manifold to flange on the current exhaust. Somehow that area is the crustiest looking area on a 35 year old truck that still has the heat shields under the bed by the fuel tanks without rust. Weird.

    True Dual Exhaust

I guess my fear of cutting them both facing down and getting rid of the y pipe is the struggle of getting two of them at a "straight back" direction to route the rest of the piping. I'm sure it's doable and probably is cleaner but it's nice already having one done. Hmm. Google usually doesn't...

    True Dual Exhaust

I got a complete / nice looking dual exhaust setup that is 3" for a newer truck from a coworker who totaled the truck. I'm not sure what year, and honestly that part won't matter as I only want to use the large straight runs and the tips to do this if I even do. The straight runs are long enough...

    The Resurrection

My old winter beater truck absolutely hated that area / the shock towers..

Which starter is correct? Educate me...

I've had two of the top style ones appear to spin slower, cause slower and longer cranking, and eventually on both the solenoid locked and fused together and kept spinning the truck over until it grenaded. I hate those and will never use another one.

    Where did that go?

My 7.3 has always been the typical "IDI leaker" it never leaks enough to bother looking into but always would leave a drop of something in the parking lot, you learn to ignore it. (My 6.9 however leaks absolutely nothing somehow..) anyways, this morning I'm out in the garage looking it over...

    N/A Diesel Exhaust Theory

My crew cab has the banks power pack and a custom exhaust with a bigger/better y pipe, its N/A and heavy and it's got more power and gets better mileage than my dads factory turbo single cab [though it's an e4od and I'm a zf5] but it should be the other way or worst case even. It's not always...

7.3 "Thrashy" sound over 2200 RPM

DMF's are great fun when they start to do this. Easy enough to check. Mine chattered so much at idle with the clutch out I got sick of hearing it and just held it in. Figured something was coming apart in my trans and was prepared for total failure one day. Then I got the worst wobble ever...

Your recommendations for throwout bearing ZF5 IDIT

Mine was coated in so much grease in my luk kit and spun so freely I figured it was good quality, didn't pay much attention to it. It did chirp ever so slightly when the pedal was the whole way up but a very small weak spring to hold just enough tension on the fork so its actually spinning the...

Truck Keeps Blowing Fuse 9 (Blower Motor)

Well I messed with this before work some today and I'm confused. I took the electrical connector off of the a/c compressor and put a 25amp fuse in slot 9 because I only had one 30amp left in the drawer and wanted to save it. I was able to leave the fan on each speed for 5 minutes truck on or off...

Truck Keeps Blowing Fuse 9 (Blower Motor)

Will it still not read some because of locking the clutch on the compressor though?

Truck Keeps Blowing Fuse 9 (Blower Motor)

My 1990 (Ernest) keeps blowing fuse 9 for my hvac blower motor. I cannot for the life of me figure out why. It will run the motor fine for about 5 minutes, fan doesn't feel sluggish at all and then the fuse pops and it's game over. It doesn't seem to matter which fan speed I'm using, or if the...
