WeatherGuard or Adrian prices new are high for the non-tradesman I agree, but the facebook market place is swamped with van ladder racks, at least down around Houston, $50-500+. Lots of options in the $150 and less range.
I've not seen anything specific for these years but I have seen someone's truck who said he took a gutter mounted utility rack from an E-series and was able to shorten it enough to make it work. Or get something like is on Towcat's (now IDIOIT's) truck, a bed mounted headache rack that extended...
I think there's a few more recent threads from Wes that outline what happens when the pump has too much pressure but I can't find them off hand. Search bar is your friend.
Cavitation is a bi-directional occurrence, compression can go into the water jacket but when the compression is gone, the water goes the other way. That usually results in stuck/hydrolocked pistons or lots of water in the oil, especially after sitting that long. If the truck started and ran fine...
In the OBS trucks these two formats are technically a different wheel base. EXLB is 155" and CCSB is 154". Where that inch is taken from I haven't figured out yet but since you're planning to go from EXLB to CCSB the length is in your favor. If there is a difference, you can probably cheat the...
We've got one on each of our older truck and they've been on for about a year now without issues.
Ford F250 F350 FSuper Duty Fuel Tank Selector Valve $44.87 delivered to you. Direct plug and play, no cutting harnesses or adapting fuel connectors or having to mount it in a weird position...
If the van had set for an extended period of time before you got it and you didn't clean the tanks during the rebuild, check the sediment bowl on your fuel filter. It's entirely possible that algae has grown in the tank while sitting and is clogging up the filters now.
Did you hear the fan roar when you fired it up cold and then go quiet after warming up a few minutes? And then did you ever hear it come on after you got it out on the road and hot?
Inside that valve body there is a motor that is responsible for moving the contacts to change the connections for the fuel level signals. Best case you could use one of the power wires that's down there to drive a relay that has a Form C contact to connect one sender or the other to the gauge...
Here are the brackets I’ve harvested from the fronts of a couple f-350 4x4s. Lefts and rights are identical. I’m not sure what the tab on them is for but it’s on the part that is up against the inside of the frame so the tabs have nothing to do with how the links are attached despite how I...
Since this has been so troublesome for you with no clear resolution here's one additional idea for consideration. The F250s were offered with 2" or 3" rear shoes right? Is it possible that either the rear wheel cylinders or the master cylinder is sized for the shoes you don't have? I don't...
From what I've seen in the wrecking yards around here, '97 and older used a bracket both front and rear to mount the top end of the link toward the inside of the frame. Usually the brackets are riveted to the frame making removal difficult. Starting in '99 and every one newer I've seen the upper...
If you don't have much or any dampness around the spring and aren't ready to spend on a new clutch you can try adding fluid as this member did. He discusses it in other threads a year or so later and says his good results continued to last.
The $4 Fan Clutch Fix...
@6moose9 posted a link to some documentation about the 7.3 the other day and I started poking around on the rest of the site and whoever owns the site found and posted some details about how to service some aspects of the DB2. Might have something useful for you if you're poking around in one...
The factory connectors are called Bundy Connectors and there's two sizes. There's a number of sellers on Ebay and Amazon that sell both brass and nylon adapters to NPT and other types of threads.
There's also some links to the sellers in some recent discussions on here. Just search for bundy...
I don't know if you consider the north side of San Antonio close but that's where Classic Diesel Designs is located. Not really too far from you considering McAllen is about as far south as one can get. Guys name is Wes or @Thewespaul and he's on here often, send him a PM and he'll get back...
You ran it with the batteries unhooked? That's when those codes were thrown? Maybe an alternator issue. With several bad diodes in the rectifier, and no batteries to load the system the voltage spike can get quite high and cause interference with IDM and PCM functions. I found that out a year or...
I don't know about air to water but the 6.0 E-series had intercoolers in them. I'm not sure how different the radiator panel is than yours but that might be an easier place to start.
Whatever battery you decide on use the NOCO professional battery washers under the terminals and then spray it with their protective spray. My dad started using the washers 30+ years ago and I've continued to put them on every battery we've worked on and I've never had a corrosion issue. I'm...
My '97 155"wb has no add a leaf but I replaced every bushing in the front end ~ 25k miles ago. It’s basically the same as josh_bear maybe 1/4” higher likewise all suspension settings are stock.
Are you asking if you can bolt the 93 turbo onto the hypermax mount? If that's your question, I'm pretty sure it isn't a bolt on deal if it could be done at all. The 93 is a t3/t4 hybrid style turbo I'm not sure what hypermax used but I'm pretty sure they spin the opposite direction which mainly...
