Realistic budget of a 2wd -4wd and goodies build

interesting. Ill have to play around with that once its on. Figure the remote would be nice since I could be on the ground beside the load balancing it and keeping the crane from swinging around, and then remotely winch it up.

Realistic budget of a 2wd -4wd and goodies build

wohohoho, last post from feb?! shes been doing some miles with me, pretty much ben driving it every day since i got it fixed. Still no interior in it though :P, the lack of NASA bright LEDs oinside makes night getting in and out hard!, resealed the cab lights no leaks, now its getting AC...

alright so, i have almost all the parts and will be putting them on this week. what is the charging procedure? vacuum the system down... Do I attach the manifold gauges (red to high side, blue to low side, and yellow to vac pump?) vacuum it, make sure it holds, preferably overnight...

What makes these engines so gutless?

my 7.3 with almost 400k miles now, was N/A before. it wasnt gutless, but it was slow. Now with the S366 turbo, some small fuel upgrades and intercooler, it moves 8000 lbs pretty quick IMO. I can be cruising 80 mph on the freeway, roll into it and walk it up past 100 mph no problem. 3.73 gear...

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

i wont be running r134a though, I will be running r12a. Also the condenser is larger because r134a is less efficient, so it needs more surface area to exchange heat. Not buying any new components other than the drier, which has the dessicant in it and indeed should be replaced. 16 bucks...

    Let's Talk Intercoolers

I still stand by using a factory ford 6.0 intercooler. Less than 80$ at most yards. I just had to trim the bottom mounts of my radiator a bit for the 3" pipes to clear. No more than 1" off each side. I still have yet to see over 1000F. Granted, I have not towed heavy with it. But going up grades...

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

Where does the oriface tube go? Also, there are two decent sized wires going to some kind of switch on the drier. WHat is that, and where do those wires connect?

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

Since all the lines will be disconnected I will definitely be running a bunch of denatured alcohol through all the parts. put some 40 psi shop air through em all as well. Then jsut add 10 oz of ester oil to the system ya? people say to put it into different areas on a dry system, so say 2 in...

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

so get all 1991 parts, run evnirosafe and call it a day ya? Does it need oil? And what about evacuating the system of old refrigerant? (say my old evap core still has green goo in it)

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

im planning on using this pump http://www.harborfreight.com/air-vacuum-pump-with-r134a-and-r12-connectors-96677.html picked up some gauges on ebay as well. This system will be totalyl empty so drawing a vaccum on nothing is no problem, But say i want to vacuum down my Lexus and evacuate...

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

that enviro safe stuff is definitly cheaper. and says it works the same in in r134 and an r12 system.

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

so you guys dont think there is an issue runniung a used compressor? I want this to be a straightforward bolt on application with as little modifying and screwing around as possible. May just pony up the cash for r12 cans, run r12 that way I just buy everything foir a 91 truck, bolt it in...

    P9106 Getting AC...part list?

So since i need a new compressor, should I just get everything from a 94+ truck? Then only the clutch would have to be changed. Or...I stick with all 91 AC stuff, and just fill with R12...which doesnt look to be cheap. what are the charge numbers for the refrigerant and oil, for r12 and...

Well, 4 years of driving this big ol truck with no AC is getting to me. time to get the AC going. Only thing I have for the system is an old wiped out compressors that has had its lines off forever and two evap cores. I want to build the AC system once, and do it right. I know we have a...

going with tis clutch. http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6752512&cc=1126606&jsn=232 the disc alone is 110, no brainer to get the PP for another 40$.. hoping I dont have to resurface the flywheel, it hasnt been slipping hard or very much. well see when I take it off. edit: $40 to...

D60 intermitant loud growl and vibration

^right if the bearing is bad it may be turning due to high friction in there. Perhaps dirt or crud got in somehow, or jsut he grease is no good anymore and it started doing some damage in there.

    P9106 needs a new clutch.

^I could get just the disc for 75 bucks from rock auto. Its not too big a job to change the clutch with the 2 post and trans jack. exhaust is all on on V bands and just pop the jack shaft out from between the ZF and NP205. actually...now that I think about it..Last time I put the entire...

    P9106 needs a new clutch.

Dual disc yes-the only way to sled pull. They are actually veary easy on the street especialy if they are organic/kevlar. Ceramics grab hard no matter what, somtered iron is awesome great heat capacity can slip but is rougher on the flywheel. But. No dual discs for me-thats biggg money. Rather...
