that what i thought too-undercharged. According to their weights...I am overcharged!! i put 3 cans into the thing, they say I only need 2.5... No leaks either...
that $140 is too much by about 100! did i mention...Im doing this on the CHEAP?! hahah. my engine runs fine so no rush. Im looking...
well it turns out the hi side fitting wasnt seating properly. at idle im at 35psi low side 150psi highside, so I am still low. I think I am just low on refrigerant...
When i rev the engine to abotu 1800 and hold it there, pressure will drop on low side to abotu 2 and the compressor will cycle...
120 gal is a whoole lot better than 38 gal :) fuel up once every 2-3 months thats pretty awesome. Sometimes I feel my 44g excursion tank isnt big enough..
drier is new. new shrader valve. there are no leaks. sytem held vacuum just fine overnight previously.
i have straight compressor mineral oil in there now-so not friendly with R134 :( should jsut got the PAG from the get go...DOH!
also, if I were to pull a vacuum on the system for 1 hour-will it suck all the oil out too?
lol, so guy is telling me that NOW the orifice is in backwards and was right before...wtf!!
im pretty sure it in the way it should be. the white tip and or ings go in first into the accumulator...
the guys trying to tell me my compressor is bad, stuck reed valve or something...
way too big a coincidence for it to do that over a couple hours. I had good pressures but poor cooling-oriface tube ws in backwards. I slowly bled system down, put in new oriface tube the right way, charged the...
Woo! Got thr engine home. Guy said it came out of a 94, so factory turbo engine. Pigger rods and wrist pins if i am not mistaken. But that means id need a different flywheel for it though :(. Had 210xxx miles on it when pulled due to smoking and low power.
Plan on just putting rings and...
Well, safe to say i am pretty dissapointed with envirotech.
My oriface tube was infact installed backwards. Put a new red one in the right way. Put in 2 cans, only reading 60psi hiside.
Put in another fullcan (supposed to only take 2.5...) 35psi low, 85hiside...and im out of fridgerant...
honestly, sounds crappy pump to me. i knwo ypu are probably thiking-but its brand new/rebuilt from a "reputable" company. I had a similar issue with pensacola diesel. the injectors were CRAP. long crank, engien running rough, smoking all the time. Popped in a set from R&D, a good trusted...
^can get new FS6 compressors for like 140 off part geek or the similar. or slightly more on rock auto
but..i may also be wrong, coudl be china compressor. but pretty sure i saw nippon denso logo..
^DMF woudl be the only thing that would dampen diesel pulses. Unless diesel trans have case hardened gears or something to have overall better strength, but i doubt that..
I can recover maybe 1 can worth by usign the old one since it has no pressure, then filling it till it equalizes pressures. I ordered 3 more cans, $20. cheaper than taking time to find a fridge compressor etc etc.
i hope for keeping my butt cold's sake i did in fac tinstall it backwards...
good stuff! i am sure you will really enjoy the diamond eye muffler. Mine sounds absolutely phenomal. deep burble at idle, and over 2200 has an awesome diesel bark to it.
Dont habe a removal tool i just put it in when the system was new and open. i think i put it in where the long mesh goes in first (yo the drier) and thr orings sit closer to the acrual line.
So i inserted it this way
Drier tube -----------|--|---| Line from condenser
Hope that...
Talked eith jim at enviro safe.
He says everything looks good except hi side pressure should be closer to 200 at that low sode and temp.
Hes sayin he had a case where the oriface tube was inseeted backwards.
Now i put my new one in the same way the old one came out of the old drier. The...
the guy said all of their 6 oz cans regardless of the label are meant to work in either r12 or r134 systems, provided they are clear and empty first.
the suction line is definityl cold, and sweating. but when i measure with temp gun (and it is accurate, my skin temp is 98ish) it is rigth at...

i sure hope so. friggin went through 5 cans total now! one was my fault-used the wrong spring clamp on the oriface valve, so i blew 2 cans out. but these 3...camannnnnnn!
ill record all temps, pressures tonight post it here, and then call buddy back tomorrow with my findings see what he suggests.
hrm you are right! I swear is saw 50 gallon when looking at tanks before
Guess the excursion 44 gallon is the biggest one you can get (from stock)!
Love the range mine has :D
will do. this thing is getting straightened out this week! supposed to be hot as frig this weekend and i gotta go get that engine.
Kind of regret not going straigth R134..at least can pick up cans anywhere vs waiting for these to ship off amazon/ebay...
posted the link now.
could be, high pressure side expanding through the riface valve into low pressure zone.
Still..why air temp so warm!?
I will report back with pressures and temps tonight after work.
