    engine swap

Yeah the correct turbo IDI piston rings are $198 if reusing the factory pistons. The IDI turbo also uses a different balancer and flywheel/flexplate that are externally balaced because of the larger wrist pins i believe.

Running Warm Under Load; Using OEM gauge location vs Overtemp sender for gauge?

No you dont need to remove the radiator. I use a piece of 3/4" 2x2 foam from home depot to put in front of my radiator when i work on it or you can use cardboard. It offers some protection when removing the clutch fan, i'll knick right through the radiator fins otherwise. You will need to remove...

    Clogged Orifice tube

That honestly seems like a propaganda add. "scare sales" tactic. I buy the orifice part if theres debris to mix with, but an evaporator replacement? Its aluminum and you can flush it out. If you notice part of the story mentions the copper line the one gentleman ran right next to the picture of...

    Clogged Orifice tube

Why exactly does it ruin a shop's equipment? What does it do to their equipment? Dont they have a large dryer and filter setup for when they evacuate systems? Wouldnt this filter oul the stop leak or the dangerous part? So long as the stop leak doesnt mix with oxygen it should stay stop leak and...

    Clogged Orifice tube

Mines going on 10,000 miles strong with the one or two cans of R134a with stop leak lol. I added the stop leak freon after the pressure switch oring leaked it out. It did get over 100F today and only got down to about 75 in the cab but thats pretty hot here and i have a black crew cab truck. I...

Facet Duralift not enough pump to keep up?

Does anyone know what the actual flow rate for the maxed stock pump is? Turbo pressure or style wouldnt have any effect on required fuel i wouldnt think. Its not like the DI engines that feed based on MAP pressure

Facet Duralift not enough pump to keep up?

Ive run the cat filter above which I believe is 8psi and 44gph, and I eliminated the factory filter that Constsntly returns. Instead I added a poppet check valve set at 5psi to the fuel system high point that keeps 5psi on my injection pump at all times and returns only what's above 5psi, so it...

Running Warm Under Load; Using OEM gauge location vs Overtemp sender for gauge?

I didn't realize you were located in Australia. I don't think 250 damaged anything. You usually see damage when a radiator hose, water pump, radiator etc drain coolant from the system allowing certain parts to get much hotter than indicated. I don't think 250 with flowing coolant damaged...

    Clutch options

Signatures don't post on mobile anyway. I met a guy the other day who'd been tig welding for 12 years. Looked at me like I was stupid when I asked where his foot pedal was. I purchased the southbend clutch for the idi turbo engine I'm having rebuilt. Doesn't matter how much clamping force...

Facet Duralift not enough pump to keep up?

I have a bull moose and misters and have no fuel issues. I don't have the factory filter setup but I've never noticed any loss of power running the cat filter and pump setup. I wasn't a fan of reducing the fuel supply to 1/8" npt no matter how many people said it worked for them. I run jic 5...

    I cannot catch a break

Is that for the crossmemeber mount? I don't have a 4wd Trans but by looking at it, you could grind the ears down, cut 2 pieces of 1/4" steel and cut a slot in to allow it to slide in place and sandwich the casing rib. The drill and weld nuts or through bolt it to the Trans mount. I cover...

Facet Duralift not enough pump to keep up?

    11psi through 1/8" is 64gph 4psi through 1/8" is 39gph 2psi through 1/8" is 27gph Thats free flow pressure differential

Running Warm Under Load; Using OEM gauge location vs Overtemp sender for gauge?

Send a picture of your radiator fins too, maybe you just have 4000 bugs stuck blocking the fins. I noted my post ic Temps up about 15 degrees and found a bunch of bugs in my ic radiator. Washed them out and it went back down Nevermind I see you have a new radiator I can t keep these...

Running Warm Under Load; Using OEM gauge location vs Overtemp sender for gauge?

Does your radiator have a full fan shroud? When I got my truck someone had cut half mine off to make it removable with fan in place

    Crumbling glow connector ends

Have you guys tried the 6.0l harness for comparison? To see how much tighter it fits?
  16. S

    Crumbling glow connector ends

I used these. The 6.0 ones fit tight like the factory ones, and come with heat wrap, and a nice straight connector to push down on. I used mine fine, but just didnt like how loose they got, and how they vibrated off...

    Crumbling glow connector ends

The wire end connection wasn't the problem the bullet end would just work loose. They stayed on mostly but were basically just held there by gravity. The ends on the 6.0 harness require substantial force to remove from the glow plugs.

    Crumbling glow connector ends

I'd still pay the $36 and just use butt connectors on the 6.0 gp connectors

    Crumbling glow connector ends

The link I posted has pics of both I removed them because they always came loose no matter how I crimped them

    Crumbling glow connector ends

The bullet connectors are junk, the 6.0l harness fits perfectly and has been on my truck for 8,000 miles and it's daily driven. http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?76533-Perfect-new-glow-plug-harness-(Cheap-too!)

Running Warm Under Load; Using OEM gauge location vs Overtemp sender for gauge?

I have mine in that location with 3 core aluminum, even with ac at 75mph my temp never goes above 200 with ac on now that I switched back to clutch fan. But I also have a cowl hood and intercooler radiator blocking airflow up front.

    extra cooling?

I think the core size, spacing, and number of fins is really what determines efficiency in a radiator. I have a 3 core aluminum, this exact one http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-ROW-ALUMINUM-RACING-RADIATOR-83-94-FORD-F-250-F350-F250-F-SUPER-DUTY-V8-DIESEL-/350704451159 Does your radiator cap work...

    extra cooling?

If you think your thermostat is working correctly you could probably remove it too and see if it still overheats. I know if offers some restriction but if the issues lies in the radiator, water pump, or clutch fan it would still show itself with no thermostat

    extra cooling?

Does it look like there's ever been any stop leak in it? Does your lower radiator hose have a spring? I forgot im sure you answered but how old is the thermstat and are you sure it's a motorcraft? There was a guy on one of these forums who cursed up and down how he hated the aluminum radiators...

    extra cooling?

What does the inside if you radiator look like looking through the cap? If there's white or brown on the cores, i can gaurantee it's not transfering well. When you say warm, what the real temperature? I just got back from a 200 mile trip at 75mph the whole way, truck around 10,000lb, AC on temp...
