    2019 Rally Convoy

Do you you have a CB in your truck? You can PM Alex or myself your phone number and we can call you as we are rolling by if you want. Not sure what time it will be yet. Haven’t got that far. LOL if we do a fuel stop around Harrisonburg, we will just be getting back on the road. I suspect food...

    2019 Rally Convoy

We could meet at the WV welcome center on I-81 if nobody needs fuel. If I’m reading my map scale right, it’s only about 5 miles from the 70/81 junction. Should be easy on and easy off. Thoughts?

Not yet. Should drive it tonight. It got too late and I was too tired and greasy to clean up and go for a spin last night.

Thanks man! I had a hard time finding one before. Wish I would have thought of you guys.

So I did change the grease boot on the tie rod. These fit nice. FYI.

Cut and paste from the other thread. Slip joint was froze but no corrosion. So this is what it took to separate it. It’s ratchet strapped between the post and the truck. Then I put tension on it and had to BEAT IT apart with a BFH. Yeah, so much for slip joint. This is what it looked...

So this is what it took to separate it. It’s ratchet strapped between the post and the truck. Then I put tension on it and had to BEAT IT apart with a BFH. Yeah, so much for slip joint. This is what it looked like coming out. Then I cleaned it up. I don’t know how I missed this...

    Oilburners 2019 Gatlinburg Rally

Sounds like us coming to Elizabethtown. We stocked it once we got there pretty much. LOL

Thoughts on single piece driveline on extended cab...

So as I thought I was about to wrap rally prep on the truck tonight I found something troubling. So here’s the deal. The drive shaft is pulled backward stretching the carrier bearing instead of slipping at the slip yoke. It’s a brand new slip yoke but I had a hell of a time putting it...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Sounds like a good plan. I applaud your attention to readiness! I’ll caution you though, unless you have an extra alternator, you can’t push 2000 W. I went through this exercise trying to figure out if I could idle the truck and run the AC on the camper. Even 130 A 3G will only get you...

Changed the air filter. Had a 6637 on there. Went with the Donaldson equivalent. Seems to fit good. I think it was ready. [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]

    Powermaster 9050 or DB SND0027

Starter installed and loving it so far. Installation itself sucked but that’s to be expected I suppose.

    AC resurrection and questions

Dye is really the best bet for finding the leaks. It’s hard to find a vacuum leak and it may only leak in one direction (vacuum or pressure) depending on seal integrity.

Well, I am pretty sure I got them from Amazon. I’ll let you know if they fit. I had a universal one on there and it did not fit well at all hence it coming apart. I wish I knew what happened to the one that came with it. Don’t know how I managed to loose it. It was a brand new component. :dunno

Powermaster starter installed. Totally worth the money so far. Took the truck for an ice cream run tonight. I think releasing the spring on the clutch has locked it. It will pull a paper towel right against the grill now. It sure seems like the AC works better and I’m pretty sure I can...

And the other side. They are almost duplicates. The clamp on the drivers side IC pipe is clocked a little different and it was too much work to adjust it for the tiny bit of trimming it was going to take. I also noticed while looking at the grill that the center hole is blocked off...

Got a couple things checked off my list. I messed with my fan clutch and decided I’d disconnect the thermal spring. I think what should happen is that the fan will stay locked. It’s hot. AC will be on. I’ll give it a go and see what happens. There are some pictures in one of the fan clutch...

I’ve already got a stud in the top hole. No. Haven’t got it in yet. Been tending to a couple other issues. Post coming soon.

    Fan clutch upgrade...

Well @subway, I must apologize. I may have been a little quick on the judgement for this idea. Most of the things I had read showed the electroviscous clutches as been a linear actuation. That would not work. However, if you look near the bottom of this page, you'll notice that they have...

    Oilburners 2019 Gatlinburg Rally

I think I have a pretty clean one if I can locate it. I went to electric with hydroboost so I didn’t even reinstall it on the engine. Let me know if you don’t find one or need it sooner for that matter. I’m not that far away.

They are on here. When I get the drawings, remind me and I’ll send you a copy if you want.
