You may have tried some of this, what I would do: 1. Run it without valve covers (maybe you still have them off) this would also negate anything you think is by the “cdr” . If not, you already ran it with the oil cap off which does the same thing. 2. Compression test 3. Pull your boot off the...

    Valve Stem Seals

Agreed - I’ve done an IDI no exhaust seals and it was no concern. Also have similar thoughts to you on the guides but I don’t have a good answer currently. I can comment on the vacuum discussion but enjoying from the sidelines IHC and XOL :popcorn

    parallel turbos

Yea I hear something wrong but I can’t tell on the video. Running it with the valve covers off and verifying the torque on the rocks is a good start. I assume you know where to clock the dampener for initially installing and torquing the rockers.

    Valve Stem Seals

You can run no valve seals on the exhaust valves if you choose. It will just smoke on initial startup.

    Who's smarter?

I’ll break the echo chamber ;Poke I think the new f350s pull, stop and handle better and more confidently than the old… as they should. If you can afford it (completely agree on all the comments about not having monthly payments). I think there is one big caveat, I wouldn’t own a new truck...

Mouse, if you have any trouble with your current intake setup I have one of Brian’s twin turbo / split intake setups i can sell for the same price I got it for. I never used it, long story short Justin had reached out to me and I was able to get a single pipe intake I needed for my use case...

When I went to school the order was oxy, stick, mig, tig and you had to pass in that order to move on to the next. Yes what booyah said, your skills and the machine settings are one in the same. After hours of burning metal you start to realize the cause and effects of settings and how to dial...

Thanks for asking - I finished this build but the forum doesn’t support the ability for me to post pictures anymore

Too basic interpretation of thermo IMO other factors are being disregarded. Flow rate, laminar vs turbulent flow, are factors in cooling and the synergy between fluid dynamics and thermo. This is what @IDIBRONCO is calling “time”. There’s other factors as well. There’s actually enough variables...

VIN M is N/A IDI, VIN K is turbo IDI. Felpro sells the same 9047-PT gaskets for both.

Thanks, it’s the 15 pro max, my old phone happen to go for a swim in trans fluid and the insurance worked out. I’ll try to shut off hdr photo and Live Photo but that’s about all you can do.

    Project Stress Test

I got a new phone and now I can’t post pictures because it takes pictures in a larger image size than the forum statically supports. @snicklas - is it possible to raise the static upload size limit on the current version of xenforo or better but more work upgrade to version 2.3 (I assume we...

The heavier valve springs are for preventing valve float at higher RPMs. Many higher performance pumps have raised RPM governor or no governor. If you don’t think you’ll be winding the engine out up there, don’t worry about it and stick with stock. Like @IDIRONCO said, pros and cons.

    Intake/valley pan gaskets, still unobtaium?

PAI is only current source, buy wherever you find cheapest. Unless you want to pay more to support certain vendors. the factory in Taiwan where the previous ones were coming from shutdown during the pandemic.

What do you see different between these two pics? Hint - the hole a human clearly punched through after the assembly line. I’m not telling Nero not to buy a head gasket from Wes that comes pre punched. It’s nice that he offers that and all. But it’s wrong to tell him he has to buy a different...

Hey Nero, straight edge the heads. Check that the valves are sealing well in the seats. Check the guide spec. Check the fire rings and cups. I think you work at heavy or medium duty shop? If you have a Wurth rep get the 3 part spray otherwise you can order kwik check from Regis online. Replace...

    Wiring Questions C6 & Tcase

I’ve tried unhooking the vacuum line and the results were - 1st gear shifts high rpm, 2nd gear, no shift to third gear. This is close to how I drive manual off road in my terrain. Crawling and holding 1st, sometimes second, not using third. I’m going to be trying this again in the project...

So what did you do with your truck today?

The good - my IDI bronco is running and I pulled it out of the garage The bad - I hear a valve train noise that is “off” it’s chuffing out of the exhaust aka exhaust valve guide or other. Going to pull off the driver side valve cover and take a look.
