    Does anyone know why all these crate engines exist? I'm guessing that they were purchased by truck manufactures and were extras... but not really sure. That motor sure looks nice.. I wouldn't mind having an extra.. just in case. Is there a warranty and how is it verified?

    they went like this.. i think. 3rd gen.. SO 250 HP 235 for calif '03 HO 305 HP '03 '04 600 325 HP 600 tq. 3rd injector..etc. '04.5 610 325 HP 610 tq. '05

    the 600 series is the 2004.5 325hp. the 305hp is the HO pre-new fangled smog stuff in the 600/610.. i would prefer a 305 but its not a 600 series. 600 series are 325hp. i don't think there is a 305hp/600 series. :confused:

    I was just reading on this, never heard of it before this thread... interesting link Here where they discuss the locknstich repair on the cracked block. i think i'd repair it.. stitch it up :rolleyes: and sell it to an unsuspecting buyer. :Sly its too bad that dodge won't make it...

    I had to replace my tires at 45k on my 03. put on the bfg 285 70 r17 in black wall on stock chrome rims... first major problem.

    I'm not sure that's a good measuring stick... If you can afford large payments then you should be able to save and pay cash. debt is just not a good thing, in my opinion. but to each his own ends to happiness. for me, no debt= no stress and security, although there are no absolutes in life. not...

    if you are going to buy replacement filters for your fuel/oil/air... genos has pretty good prices. has anyone else noticed that on the 600/610 the oil turns black right after you change it?

    the 600s have some smog stuff on them that the HO didn't have. In 2004 they went to the 600 which was legal in all 50 states, including california. the 2003 and early 2004 are missing some of those extras for smog emmisions. the oil in my 2004.5 get dirty after a couple hundred miles where...

    here's the front end of the '06.. I really don't think it looks all that bad. be nice if they would quit changing all the time tho... my trucks are outdated already and it seems like i just bought em... I won't be upgrading for this. :D
