Its wet underneath
From where it bolts on the front clear to the injector lines on the back. Ive tightened the injector lines and it didnt make a difference.
All the injectors ts are dry now with the new return line kit though
Just got a '90 7.3 idi ats turbo a month ago
The pump is wet and the fuel milage seems to be slipping every tank full. There is something leaking on the top getting the valley wet too. I have heard of a weep hole in the ip but havnt located it yet
Have replaced valve cover gaskets and fuel...
The key moves a rod that goes down the steering column to a box that does all the acc/crank stuff. It likes to break or start not working part # 83280 at advance auto
Just did mine, starts now, but key is stupid hard to turn, its just going to bend that deal again. got a junk yard column that im...
There is cheap rotella oil and rotella tripple t. Dont run the cheap stuff for 10k miles. Had a conversation with a mech at the repair shop that got to put a re man engine in for some dude...
Im rocking 15-40 john deere oil and when it stops leaking is when i get nervous. Lol. John deere bulk oil ftw! Like $10 a gallon delivered. Plus its on tap
Man do these engines just like to leak?
Good deal! Lol
It spins the transmission with no oil pressure if its an auto.
that might be a problem.
Ive never heard of anyone having a problem, but every one pulls it off if there going very far.
We go 5-10 miles all the time with it in.
Mine dont spool till 2k rpm and tops out at 6psi. It runs like a turd. Going to fix exhaust leaks in the next week or two and possibly a wicked wheel 2 compressor wheel install.
Ill report when its done, the PO must have maxed out the pump also, it smokes like crazy
How much power are you looking for? Personally i wouldn't recommend more than 12 pounds of boost
Once pressure gets over 10# the temperature rise gets real. IMO more than 12# you need an intercooler.
Also more pressure you can blow head gaskets. These have 22.5 to 1 compression. A powerstroke...
Good info guys!! I read someone plumbed their fuel line through an unused transmission cooler in their radiator to warm the fuel up, might have to look into that also.
So bottom line, burning wmo is a pain, but still worth the hassle
Update: both rear calipers were seized and the internal ebrake shoe on one side was set with the cable broke off.
Fuel milage should increase drastically i would think
Thanks guys!
Has anyone had long term ill effects on the engine from running wmo? I have read about cokeing and intend on blending 50-50 with diesel, might go to 25diesel 75wmo in the summer time
Anything else i should know?
Hey guys, sorry to blow some dust off this thread
Anyone regret burning black diesel?
Im about half way through this thread and getting a filter setup started
Got a 7.3idi turbo to burn it
Thanks!
hey guys, at the farm we have a 250 gallon ibc full of used oil
But were not careful on how it gets there. Or covering it. Or cleaning the buckets used to dump oil in it
So. Its dirty, sandy, and slimy.
Can a guy filter it enough to be burned in my turbo idi?
Thanks!
