    Update- I took it to my friends dad who has been in the AC business for 19 years and he helped me out. Vacuumed out the system, replaced the oriphace tube, and put all new o-rings, then recharged with r-12. It's been two days and it's still blowing ice cold.

    So my dipstick was feeling a little flimsy and although I was trying to be careful I snapped it trying to put it back in after checking the oil. Does anyone have a spare that is willing to sell? It's for a 1988 7.3 IDI. Figure 10 bucks plus shipping?

    Alternator Belt Flopping Around?

    It flops around because of the vacuum pump. Since the pump oscillates when it compresses the belt vibrates accordingly. I researched it a while back when I didn't know if it was normal or not but it is normal.
