Ok another issue. I dont have the clip that holds the gear onto the end of the cable. Any ideas where to order that? The gear showed up today and no new clip.
Never mind. Found one I think on ebay. Hope it fits.
I do have a mechanical gauge. Problem is I'm running 40psi at idle and pushing 70psi highway. Changed oil and filter yesterday and no difference.
I will try changing the gauge with a new one soon. But if that doesnt work I'm trying to figure out where to look next.
What are some common reasons for the oil pressure to go up? If the oil gauge is accurate and cold weather isnt the case, what would be some common things to look at? Also what should the oil pressure be at idle and also while running 55mph 2k rpm?
Is it different between the 6.9 and the 7.3? I...
I just switched mine from Mitsubishi to the Nippendenso last week. Best decision I've made with my truck so far. A noticable noticeable difference. My Mitsubishi came apart. Literally came apart.
So if I dont have the original one to go off of color. How do I tell? My transmission is a 5speed and if I'm not mistaken the 85 f350 only had a 4speed? So I'm assuming it's a zf5 from a later model?
This has to be what I'm missing. When I pulled the old cable out there was nothing attached to it. This should be attached to cable right?
This is what it looked like when I removed it.
I have been using my phone last couple of days. I'm trying to get a more permanent setup. Something I can actually mount to the dash or better to replace my cluster. Also if I do go that route do I just leave the cable in the transmission or can I remove it and plug the hole with something?
Thanks for the detailed explanations. Its drives just fine for now. So I'll just go the gps route for now lol. Wonder if there is an aftermarket cluster replacement that is gps guided. Or maybe software to download to a tablet and just mount that?
i turn the speedometer by hand (where the cable attaches) and it works. replaced the upper and lower cable with one long cable bypassing the CC and still speedometer will not read. doesn't even budge a little bit. has anyone gone through this before? What was the solution?
1985 f350 6.9l dually...
I would bypass it if I knew how. I've read how to do it just scared to screw something up until I learn all the code language going on in the bypass post. Still learning what's what.
Could this be the cause as to why my water in fuel light never goes off? It stays on 100%. I've done the diesel additives, drained separator, quality fuel... at another :frustrate moment.
