    Brake issue again

So you removed the RABS valve? Or was it removed by a PO? Have you bled the brakes? M/C could be failing internally.

Will a fuel level sensor from a gas truck work on a diesel

Fuel weight is a pretty minor factor. A 33-gallon tank vs. 19-gallon, that's 14 gallons at aprx. 7 lbs/gallon, so about 100 lb. Not a major player compared to your utility box and its contents. And the weight of the fuel in the front tank is in great part on the rear axle anyway. The thing you...

Will a fuel level sensor from a gas truck work on a diesel

Sending unit / level sensor are the same thing. The gasser and diesel sending units work on the same resistance range; as long as it mounts on the pickup the same way and the swing-arm is the same physical range, it should work. Did you actually swing the arm to determine that it's not...

    fuel tank over pressurized

Which tank did you have selected when this happened? Does it happen when you select the rear tank?

    Got a new truck

Hint - is there anything in the owner's manual about a cabin air filter? As for the tranny, fix now, mod later. Hard to say what's wrong with your tranny, but trying any chip, shift kit, etc. to fix a tranny that's not shifting right is just masking the problem, and not getting at the...

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE i CAN FIND a CD ADAPTOR FOR MY 1986 AM/FM/CASSETTE DECK?

FM transmitter is susceptible to interference. An FM modulator like this - http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-Audio-FM-Modulator-Universal/dp/B0007THIDQ - is not. I use one like this with an old GPS has MP3 capability. Before the advent of MP3, I tried a slew of different CD players, holders, etc...

    wiring harness for 94 IDI

RABS has NOTHING to do with the brake lights. It's tied to the VSS. Work at this level requires an EVTM. Otherwise you're beg/borrow/stealing diagram here, diagram there, someone's recollection of a wire color over there. At the very least, you'll want to check all the appropriate terminal...

We have a Flaming River shaft in one truck, and the set screws tend to do the same. You'd think they'd stay put with the locknut, but no. Absent-minded me, I keep forgetting to loctite 'em.

    Push Starting a 6.9idi

Problem with push starting is, you need another vehicle big enough to push it, which kinda defeats the purpose after the SHTF. Unless you have quite a few large buddies, or a convenient location at/near the top of a hill.

clutch push rod heim joint mod

Adjustable pushrod - http://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearch/?mfr=ATP&partnum=fx231 . Add a short piece of 1/2"OD x 7/16"ID brass or bronze (brass is lower friction) tubing to replace the cr@tastic plastic bushing, and a 7/16" drill stop collar to hold the pin in place in the pushrod. Cheaper and...

    Push Starting a 6.9idi

Would EMP affect electromechanicals like a starter motor or the FSV? You could just keep a spare starter around.

7.3L IDI turbo '94 5 speed 2WD check engine light

Could be that one of those wires to one of those sensors is shorting to ground, or has become disconnected and the terminal is touching metal and grounding. There's no "reset"; the sensors don't trigger a separate circuit or "event" or anything. It's purely electromechanical; the sensors just...

7.3L IDI turbo '94 5 speed 2WD check engine light

^^^^ Um, NO, not "probably". All the OBS have a Check Engine light. On the IDI, since there are no codes, the CE light is electromechanically connected to a low oil pressure switch and an over-temp switch. I don't have the diagram, and don't know at what thresholds the light comes on, but...

In our trucks, PS fluid is not "normal". It had ATF from the factory, and should have had all along.

    wont crank sometimes

Get yourself some running boards. We have 'em on two of our three trucks, and I have to sorta smack my own hand getting into the one without, to keep myself from grabbing the wheel to pull myself in. Finally got a crusty old set on CL, just gotta get a warm day to install 'em.

    wont crank sometimes

Hmm, just speculating, but I wonder if, with the loose column, the rod between the key cylinder and ignition switch isn't pushing the switch far enough to close the START contacts, and lifting the column moves the rod a little, just enough. I'd slide under the column and look up, while moving...

    wont crank sometimes

Is the wheel/column loose? Does that have an impact on the movement of the key? Automatic or manual transmission?

Speedometer not working and blinker fuse blowing

So if the lights actually work with the flashers, unfortunately that puts the focus more on the signal switch in the column. Still, check for chafed wiring as suggested above, and start with removing the bulbs as mentioned.
  19. M

    Couple things

You might try manually sliding the ignition switch into each position; you may have to disconnect the rod in order to do so. See what happens in each position. For starting, have you checked the clutch switch? Have you tried bypassing it?

    cannot fuel

Search "fast fill" on some of the other forum sites. As a temporary measure, try driving the LR wheel up on a 4x4" block when you get to the pump.

Speedometer not working and blinker fuse blowing

The brake pedal switch does NOT work off pressure. The plunger simply moves when the pedal arm moves. Works just like the switch that turns on the light in your fridge. To the OP - which "light" are you referring to in post #4? IIRC - If I Recall Correctly

Speedometer not working and blinker fuse blowing

Start by removing both turn bulbs on right side (RF & RR). If it still blows, check wiring as mentioned above. Turn signal switch on the column is another possiblility. Does the hazard fuse blow when you use the hazards?
  23. M

    Couple things

Does the key turn to the ACC position, and you just don't get any accessories? Or is the key unable to click into that position? The problem may be in the cylinder or the rod that connects to the switch, not the switch itself.

Speedometer not working and blinker fuse blowing

Does the turn signal fuse blow right away, when you turn the key on, or when you attempt to use one of the turn signals?
  25. M

    wont crank sometimes

Do you hear any click, either a semi-loud "Click" from around the passenger-side fender or a louder "CLICK!" from down lower, when you turn the key and it doesn't crank? Automatic or manual transmission?
