    New Bucket Seats

I have an extended cab and found seats out of a 2014 F-150 extended cab for my truck (with the half door that opens) off craigslist. The F-150 seats have seat belts built into the seat and I like that (Dodge and Chevy trucks also have these seats). Just note, if you get seats like this you...

    Clutch problem

Probably not the cause in your case but I've had the same happen to me after I had one of my return lines break and spill diesel down the back of the engine. I took off the inspection cover and sprayed brake cleaner up to clean what I could. Stopped the slipping. I will add I did the pstroke...

    HE351VE Remote Mount Turbo

Very true on comfort. HAHAHA it feels like I am in a Cadillac when I get into any newer car after my IDI!

    Official Bell Radiator Group Buy

Labor would be my guess, that and something like 99% of world wide aluminum comes from recycled aluminum vs virgin (not that there's any difference). I am going the route of buying a nylon fan. I have no issues, but these nylon fans seem to be a good way to go. I found one on eBay used from a...

    HE351VE Remote Mount Turbo

My 6.0 left me stranded twice. First time was injectors ($1500 for a set) second time it was the sensor (I forget which now). Only thing that saved me the second time, I happened to have a tuner that could clear codes and allowed the truck to start and run fine. I dumped the 6.0. I felt like...

    Turn signals gave up

Just bought one from Jegs for my led turn signals. Bubs in the AZ summer months just don't last, but LEDs will

    Ill behaved truck

My guess would be worn leaf spring bushings. Assuming it is a 4x4 with ttb. Mine did the exact same before I replaced the bushings.

HAHAHA glad it worked out...mine drove me nuts for a bit hunting and hunting!

    R&D stuff

Btw that was my first time tig'ing aluminum. Despite everyone's horror stories about aluminum, I am much better at it than steel but I prepped everything to the nth degree. Hardest by far was the 3" intercooler pipes. Probably means I travel too fast tig'ing steel lol.

    R&D stuff

I just got done doing a mixed bag of upgrades to my truck. I got the builders turbo kit from Justin and the fuel rails. I originally had a ats 88 kit and rebuilt that turbo with a 60-1 housing, wheel, and backing plate so I got a .59 t4 turbine for it for $100 and tial waste gate set to 10 psi...

    Tick, no tick, tick

I had the same tick. I replaced all the lifters, sealed everything in the exhaust, verified timing, replaced rockers, push rods, and new injectors was still there. I just got a new Omega moose because of a turbo upgrade and the tick went away immediately. My old pump still worked but I had blown...

    Johnson Hylift Lifters

This place sells the slow leak down version (marketed for the 7.3 and 6.0 and 6.4 but same part number). http://shop.pspdiesel.com/6-0L-HD-Lifters-p/b-2104se.htm

    Johnson Hylift Lifters

Has anyone ever used this brand before? They make them for our engine, made in the USA. They have four types, standard, race (these are variable bleed down, designed to bleed down at lower rpms if running a big cam), slow (slow bleed down, said to act like a flat design), and "e" type that helps...

    Metric 6.9 Studs

Hahahaha happy belated turkey day as well! I don't think I'd ever attempt to hand drill it, way too many holes for way to many chances of something going wrong. I hate tapping as it is, too stressful. That being said, if I were to advise someone doing it by hand I would suggest making a fixture...

    Metric 6.9 Studs

Yeah that makes sense. The few hundred for the right machine work is worth it when spending the kind of money it takes to build these engines.

    Metric 6.9 Studs

Interesting thanks for the heads (no pun intended) up. I have a set of NOS 6.9 new castings head I am going to put in once I blow up my gaskets with a new turbo and my omega moose and was thinking ahead. I don't think I'd attempted it not squared on a big jig bore machine just to be sure.

    Metric 6.9 Studs

Just did a quick look at ARP's website and they stock Toyota head studs some of which I believe use m13x1.75. 13mm is 0.3 larger than 1/2" so I'm not sure if that 0.3" would give 100% thread engagement. That being said, m13 is kind of oddball so 14mm would be perfect but at that point a 9/16...

    Metric 6.9 Studs

Just early morning sleepless reading and I saw a thread about re-tapping a 6.9 block to use 9/16 studs and the debate if there was enough meat to do so. It was suggested to not re-tapping a 7/16 hole to 1/2 because there would only be 95% thread engagement. Why not go metric and tap a 7/16 to...

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

Thanks. Makes sense. So best way to control boost pressure is a waste gate (at least for a diesel).

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

Oh gotcha. Would adding an adjustable BOV work as well? Trying to keep stuff away from the hard to reach area behind the motor. I ordered my stuff today except the turbine housing. I'm still debating on that.

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

I spent some time looking at the up pipe and I ended up ordering some ss tubing and flanges in case I just need to build my own up pipe for a better fitment. I'm thinking about doing a powerstroke type routing. I'm going to try and cutting and welding a flange on an extra passenger side...

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

So basically just stick a adjustable blow off valve somewhere in the piping? Is there any "rules" on whether to stick the BOV before or after an intercooler or does it not matter? Good excuse to add an intercooler :). I've got my pump turned up a few full turns and I can't get anything haze...
