I can't help but I had a mechanical fuel pump die on me. After I replaced it I had the same knock. I chased it for months - new injectors, lifters, rocker arms, and push rods. Nothing changed. Everyone on here said my valve was going to drop. It never happened. Tick remained just like yours...
I BELIEVE he machines the backing plate and compressor housing for the 60-1 wheel. Or you could buy the 60-1 backing plate and compressor housing (maybe from Russ?) made for the 60-1.
The advantage to the machining is it keeps a "smaller" package. The 60-1 is bigger but they do fit. But...
Thank! Very much appreciated. Yeah its just the banks one. I can't find the p/n at the moment but they were still sold new. Like $49 or something like that. The p/n is definitely listed on oil burners somewhere. I have it going to a racor cv4500 then back into the air intake. The drain on the...
Yeah thatst a compelling reason to swap to a dt360. It's interesting because these notch together. You machine out the piston bores. There's a picture of a Cummins on their website with the work done. I've heard of darton sleeves before and they are quality sleeves. But I don't know anything...
My mechanical died and I bought a new mechanical one to put in. When pulling the old one the arm fell off in the block on me. The 20 min job turned into a weekend of cussing lol. I will never put a mechanical one back on. I had a Holley and it was so darn loud. I have a Carter now and I love the...
It maybe adds a few psi, but psi doesn't mean as much as volume of air. A sink may produce the same psi as the Colorado River, but guess which one flows more.
You can fit a 60-1 backing plate, compressor wheel, and compressor housing on that turbo without any machining and keeps the turbo in exactly the same location. Turbine side will have to remain the same.
I looked up the p/n on Borg warner then searched for a used one on eBay. Lol. Select "fan" then filter by "dimensions". The pilot is 5.000 (5.001") and the bolt circle is 6.000". I choose a diameter of 22.83". Two p/ns come up, one 8 blade the other 9. I wanted the 9" and there were new ones on...
Exactly. I torque them all the same, pop test them, and then adjust them with shims (if necessary) and re-torque to the same spec. If not, you could end up chasing your own tail trying to get them to line up - don't ask me how I know until I had that "duh" moment LOL.
Hahaha what's funny is everyone calls everyone a dbag on Pirate. Meanwhile one of their members is a host on that history channel show Truck Night in America which is one of the dumbest shows I've seen. Then again I still watch it some so the joke is on me.
Theer was a 7.3 pstroke on that show...
All I can say is I've been through every glow plug problem. Finally I 1) fixed the connection as.notrd above 2) built a new glow plug harness (to spec, don't over size wires if using 6v plugs) using 6.0 harness 3) new relay 4) push button. Fixed everything. It really is amazing how easy it is to...
Regarding the bushing, I had some ideas about doing this same thing and found a left hand tap new on eBay for $30 and bought it. I also have a late but I have no idea how to tread so I was going to use a Cummins 4 bolt flange and clutch and retap the Cummins 4 bolt to our tpi (see below).
I...
Makes sense completely. On Pirate a 14b front axle is "weak" because it runs on the coast side and unit bearings are "unusable". Meanwhile Dodge engineers spent way more time and money designing/testing that axle and it, in all reality, is perfect for 99.999% of us. I mean if it ever DID become...
Everything you wanted (or never wanted) to know about Dana 60s including parts/drawings.
I think the dodges may be a different width. Nothing that would cause a no go but something to keep in mind.

Good point, and it may be on the back of the fuse panel I haven't checked yet. I had always thought on the 92 on up it was on the back of the fuse panel and on the 87 to 91 it was behind the glove box area.
I have a 1987 F250 6.9 (it has the 87 though 91 interior/gauges/dash) and I know the general location of where the Hazard Flasher Relay is supposed to be (up under the dash behind the glove box). I just switched to LED signals and replaced the signal flasher relay with an electronic flasher...
Out of curiosity, do they make a steering box reinforcement plate like they do with Chevys that all seem to suffer from this? Not saying I can't just make one out of 3/16 or 1/4 plate but the Chevy ones also include a bar to triangulate that corner.
This is the ORD one for Chevy trucks...
