Guess a follow up question would be, I've got a lathe. Think there is enough meat on the inside groove of the crank pulley to cut it to 5/8"? I'd like to run a bigger amp alternator (currebtly have a 130a) and I just don't think a single 1/2 wide vbelt is going to work. I also can't see a way to...
Just curious if a 5/8 wide vbelt would work with our crank pulley? I wanted to swap out my alternator pulley and run a 5/8 wide inside groove pulley. I'm guessing it won't but thought I'd ask.
Thanks in advance.
You're right! This is from the Super Moose (which is a DB2)
"Because of this massive fuel flow, larger diameter lines and Moose Mister injectors are required, as is a 60 PSI external electric fuel pump and safety cutoff system. "
Lol that is true about the steel lines. It put my harbor freight $17 bender on it's knees. I was 50/50 on steel vs aluminum because I was worried about kinking the aluminum too easily. I actually considered 3/8 PEX. It's not rated for diesel and only rated to 180 degrees but a lot of the bio...
I used 3/8 brake line. It's like $6 for a 6 foot length at Autozone/O'Reilly etc. I cut it with a pipe cutter for square ends. I used a harbor freight tube bender to make the bends and tried using as little fittings as possible. I got fancy and used an compression fittings but you could use...
Good point and true.
Well, all up and running. Just a sob to prime this time for some reason. New 38 gallon tank and sending unit ordered as well. This ticked me off enough to take that plunge.
Thanks for the heads up on charging the truck. I'll be sure to do that before. I'll see if I still have my tow straps to pull it. That would be much easier.
No I replaced it with a Parker hannifin unit. I'm guessing it sounds like I just have a ton of air in the lines still? I do have a fuel pressure gauge right at the IP and it is reading 6 psi. Might just let the electric pump run for a bit tomorrow before I try cranking some more. My shut of...
Alright gents, at my wit's end and memorial day plans ruined.
I ran out of fuel and I cannot get the truck started. I have an e lift pump, and 6 psi to the injection pump, and it holds that pressure for more than a few hours so I don't believe I am introducing more air. Always started up and...
Was all the white smoke from the fuel leaks? I blew a return line once and it took a few hours of driving to burn the diesel off blowing white smoke everywhere.
Yeah, it definitely does. I replaced literally every component of my AC system last year, and the high side hose has a 3/8-24 valve. I had a r12 to r134a service port adapter on it, and that is now replaced by a tee: 1) connects to the 3/8-24 hose 2) r134a service port 3) switch port for the...
I wanted to add a high pressure cut out switch to my high side. I got the motorcraft yh-1705 and a tee fitting that screws into high side. The tee includes a r134a service port and a spot to screw my high pressure switch in. Unfortunately my system is already charged and in order for the tee...
It looks like it's for when you have valve recession issues. I dunno, but I agree increasing a head gasket thickness isn't the right way to lower compression.

I've seen guys talk about this before. Never saw this part number before. Anyone ever seen these before when talking about lowering compression.

BTW I do not believe that running out of fuel caused the issue. I believe it may just be the old nail in the coffin on a tired pump, or at least it puts enough of a strain on it to finally case it to go out of spec enough.
