Sure do, Parker PS120. I was wrong, the micron rating is 200 to 260 - technically a "fuel strainer". You can unscrew the plastic and clean it out if need be and the strainer thing can be replaced.

There was an Extreme 4x4 driveway rescue episode where they rewelded the H1 wheels to "normal" back spacing. The truck they worked on did not drive on public streets. The way they welded them was they cut the center, bolted the cut center to the hub, and then welded the rim. They measured the...
Hope the heat is kinder to you guys. It was 116 here in PHX today. I would not want to be bent over the motor today. I've welded in the summer heat before and you forget how much you sweat until you unplug your welder with sweat dripping and the 240v reminds you water and electricity do not mix.
Spectre performance fuel filter?
If you're looking for a good diesel prefilter (100 micron plus) I bought this Racor one and I like it. It is 150 micron and is before my Carter. Then, I have a frame rail mounter Parker 700 with a 2 micron R90 filter that flows 105gph, from there to my...
I bought one of those Gunson's off ebay. Little cheaper (like $200) but it shipped out of the UK. Got it in AZ within 2 weeks. Since I am also a cheap F I got one of the harbor freight timing lights with a 25% off coupon this weekend - normally $29.99. All in that put me at $237.50 with...
I hate to say it, but every time I pull up to a light and I see that new diesel I think of a $600 a month payment on a depreciating asset. Only with cars/trucks do we make such poor monetary decisions. Plus, they are extraordinarily expensive to fix, and many of the repairs are more involved...
From what I understand the Cummins guys love the Carter 4601hp which is a 9.5 to 16 psi 105 gph pump. There is a Carter 4600hp which is a low pressure version, 4.5psi to 8psi with 105 gph. I traded gph (105 vs 72) for the diesel specific one mentioned above. But probably makes no difference...
I've heard that as well. One guy found like 2 in there. I just wanted it out and didn't want to risk it.
I can't hear it over idle, and barely right before I start. It comes with a sound isolating bracket and rubber grommets and it's mounted by my rear tank.
I lost the fuel pump arm in the block and spent 3 miserable days fishing it out the hole with a harbor freight camera scope and a host of long reach tools. I will never put another mechanical pump on any vehicle again.
Thank you for the info. From my searches it does looks like all the stellite valves are just coated as you said. I've not seen the actual inconel valves offered anywhere so I'm not sure of the price difference. But the stellite ones are only $2 or so more.
Oh, and you'll know you're close because you will start to get white smoke out the tail pipe. If you're not getting smoke yet, your injectors are not firing yet.
My opinion, not likely. These are mechanical so they have to hit a certain psi to get the injectors to fire. Any air bubbles will lower the psi since they can compress.
Will 1 keep it from not running? No, it would keep that cylinder from running so it should run but rough.
I am guessing you...
I have the Carter and I did not. Mine is mounted by the rear tank. I had a Holley and my god that thing was really loud. Now I've got the Carter p4070 version (O'Reillys pn # E16048) with an Omega Moose and it's perfect for me and quiet. Buying it through O'Reillys it gave me a lifetime...
One thing I did, if you are rebuilding your heads I would upgrade to the stellite exhaust valves. These are the valves used on the turbo engine. I think they used inconel or something but Rock Auto sells stellite ones from engine tech. Cheap upgrade at $11.07 per valve or $88 for both heads...
That's tough. If you're getting fuel it should be running. The only thing I can think of is you are also sucking in air some where between the lift pump and IP. The IP can't fire the injectors if there is still air in the hard lines because air bubbles will compress. It will bleed fuel but not...
I can also confirm I remember such a post about the 088. It was a 1.00 or there abouts (as said abouve the 085 was .96). I put a 60-1 compressor side on along with a .59 turbine side and it puts about 10 psi at 2k. I have a external tial wastegate set 10 psi so I am not sure where it would...
Had something similar. Lots of people complain about it when the temps hit above 105 here in phx. Separate tire tread. Had a bubble that really shook the truck.
If, for some reason, a custom gear is needed. Boston Gear can make anything you need and cheaply. They also have a ton of gears they stock. I needed a gear for my lathe a few years back, turned out to be a custom gear. It was under $100.

you can add a uv die to the oil (doesn't hurt anything at all) to help figure it out. It's like the AC stuff.
Most of the major stuff I've worked on myself. I've found places (there is a perkins pump place and southwestern diesel and electric) that will work on individual components, but...
I'm in Phoenix. I called several a while back and the only shop that knew what an idi was, was Chucks speed and rv center but they wouldn't work on it. Strictly diesel may, the owner is a former ford diesel master mechanic. Maybe try some places near farms, out in Buckeye or Gilbert.
I ended up...
I found a place that will send me a pre ground hss lathe bit for under $20 to make the v belt larger if need be. I thought that the IDI on buses may have used a 5/8 crank pulley since that is a common size medium duty trucks but I can find any info. Sometimes they make the grooves deep enough to...
