    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

Ok I figured out it's a p trim turbine housing 64mm/74mm. Only thing left is what a/r I should go after with my 60-1 compressor housing and wheel. I found the 093 is a .70 a/r. But being that the 088 are not waste gated that might be too small. A/r size options I see are 1.32, 1.15, .96, .81...

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

Finding some info on here. Looks like the 088 is a t4 turbine wheel. So I should be looking at t4 turbine housings? Sorry I just don't have a good understanding of turbos.

    I now have boost

I will say it really shut my motor up (probably due to the blend). I am going to try a full synthetic change at my next interval.

    I now have boost

So far it has needed a qt since I posted above, and I've driven about 2k. But this is about what the truck was using before. When it was 119 here those parking garage arms (the ones that move up and down) are made of pvc or something but it was so hot when the arm went up they just folded over...

    ATS 088 Turbine Housing

Does any one know if there is a stock Garrett (or whoever) turbine housing that would fit the stock ATS 088 turbine wheel. I definitely have a 088 and not a 085 or 093 set up. I ask because I would like to weld on a T3 flange to the ATS up pipe to make turbo removal easier, not deal with...

    I now have boost

Just a follow up on the oil. I really love it! Man did it quiet up the truck. Also glad I switched when I did because I live in Phoenix and for 10 days straight it's been over 115 (119 at the hottest).

    Energy Suspension Motor Mounts

Just thought I would share this, but I haven't used it. Energy Suspension diy motor mount kit: http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/diymmi I am going to start replacing cab mounts and I also want poly motor and trans mounts. I was always told if you have poly motor mounts you also need poly...

    I now have boost

Hey guys I saw the talk about oil. I was browsing through Wally Mart and saw the below Majestic 20w50. It is CJ-4 rated (I guess mineral oil?). I live in Phoenix and may give this a try this summer. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Majestic-20W50-2G-Engine-Oil/51005334

I agree my 6.0 was probably broke. They all are pretty much broke or on their way to be broke.

    I now have boost

Btw one thing on the boost psi, I see a lot of guys looking for more psi. IMO I would focus on volume at any psi. My sink may have the same psi as the Colorado River, but one has more volume.

    I now have boost

I owned a 6.0 (03 f350) before this truck (87 f250 6.9). At 53k the 6.0 injectors failed. $5k to replace (lol about twice as much as I paid for my 87). About the only difference I can tell from a 300hp 6.0 and this 215hp (I am guessing with my 60-1 compressor housing and wheel) diesel is how...

    I now have boost

I have an ats 088 turbo on my 6.9 and like I have read by everyone I was only hitting about 5 psi, 7 up a hill maybe a bit more after pushing really hard. This was after I turned the fuel up 3 flats, rebuilt the turbo, and wrapped the up pipes. I figured this was normal. Now, I readily admit I...

Breaking down and asking for help

There might be a different set up NA but I'm not sure. My truck had the turbo on it since I got it.

Breaking down and asking for help

So I couldn't get a clear picture of it from my truck. But I uploaded a picture of the kit. See below. What he is talking about is on the vertical pipe furthest to the left there is a little tab welded on it (look at the straight section of the pipe, and follow it down to where it starts to...

Breaking down and asking for help

I'll take a picture of it today. On follow up I actually drove the truck around and the tick is much better. Must be I haven't sealed the up pipe well enough. Now it's just a quiet tink vs loud tick.

Yeah it did. What effect does that have?

Breaking down and asking for help

Just a follow up. Finally had time to work on my truck today. No change. I replaced the exhaust manifold with a new one, new gasket, and wrapped my crossover and up pipes. Ticking is still there. I was wrong on the symptoms though, now that it is warmer and I'm using my AC so the truck warms...

Breaking down and asking for help

All my new manifold should be here next week so I won't get to replacing it until next weekend. I am going to use felpro gaskets and some stage 8 locking bolts after I torque it down. I'm also going to pull the cross over and up pipes and wrap and use some sealer on those when I put them back...

Thank you. Hahaha wish my truck was cleaner it would make it easier to spot! Plus the damn motor cross member is right in the way of looking at the underside of the header.

Breaking down and asking for help

That video was of the truck after I got home from work and it was still warm. If it's not the manifold it has got to be internal somewhere. It seems loud enough warmed up to be exhaust.

Breaking down and asking for help

Well I got my fingers crossed it is just the manifold not sealing right or warped. I have a second manifold gasket so we will see. It's definitely not coming from the rocker arms, I've had those damn valve covers off so many times and double and triple checked my torque specs. I ran the truck...

Breaking down and asking for help

Did you just use high nickel rod for the cast iron? I had envisioned taking the ats 088 turning housing off, blowing it up, putting a t3 turbine on, and welding a cast iron t3 flange on the exiting up pipe.

Bit the $65 bullet and bought a passenger side manifold. Only thing near there left I can replace lol.

6.9 and 7.3 passenger side exhausted manifolds are the same, right?
