Leaking fuel on OBS 7.3L
That's your fuel filter restriction.....lights up the idjiot light on the dash telling you the filter needs an ennema LOL- geonc

Smoking on startup
Welcome to OB! PSD's have the wiring system with built in connections on the valve cover gaskets that act as connections for the UVC--under valve cover wiring. The outermost pins are notorious for failure and those feed the glow plugs. Here's a pic of a fried one....- geonc

Depending on actual build date, there could also be HPOP drainback issues..... however I would start with the obvious as posted by Rob---UVC harness/GP wiring/relay- geonc

I would pass....unless you really enjoy headaches and have $$$$ to throw away---{if so I'll pm you my address :D} 8.2 Detroits are prone to all kinds of head gasket issues, are not replaceable cyl liners, inj tubes prone to leaking coolant....basically a blue boat anchor :puke: We used to...- geonc

What SCA is recommended for the PSD?
My couple pennies goes towards ELC ;Sweet Have run it since '98 ---and taken alot of flack for using and recommending it too........... The coolant hoses, heater core, water pump, etc... are none the worse either, in spite of the naysayers :D Used Rotella ELC in my IDI that went 300k+...- geonc

Troubleshooting from the road - valve/rocker noise - before you lose an engine
Give the dollar bill trick a try----with the eng idling, hold a dollar bill by the end right up against the exh outlet---it should constantly be blown away. If it is being sucked back against the outlet then a exh valve is the culprit. JD brings an important piece of info ;Sweet Had...- geonc

After a second closer look at those pics, I see you went with the Nitto Tera's ;Sweet;Sweet I just put my fourth set of 305 70 16's on my last time home....$780 on the rim and out the door---mount, balance and filled with air:D How do you like them Scott? They are a quiet runner---no?- geonc
