This looks like a nice setup. I have the integrated Banks air box/intake that I would love to get off the top of my motor. It is just too much of a pain to work on anything with it there. I currently don't have much interest in an intercooloer, will this intake hat work out well?
So it is time to spend some more time and money on Lil (the F350) to get her road worthy. The next step is getting the coolant :puke: under control, time for head gaskets. I searched through the FAQ and the technical sections and was kind of surprised we didn't have any information posted...
So what is the best way to 'burp' them. I have never had any trouble with my other truck. But just in case I should try it. Doing headgaskets in my driveway sounds like too much fun.
So can anything else cause coolant pressure to push enough coolant back into the overflow bottle and make it overflow other than combustion pressure from a bad head gasket? When hot and running it looks like one of my kids is blowing down their straw into their drink. Just curious (and hoping)...
"Please post how well the ESP mounts work for you"
They seem fine, but I never drove the truck much before as the rear passenger side mount was torn free and not even doing anything. Compared to my F250 the truck seems to float a little more and not jar as much on the sharp edge bumps. So...
So I finished up putting the Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts under the cab on the four door this weekend. However I couldn't find the torque values for the bolts anywhere. I looked in my Chilton's and searched the internet for an hour or so, no luck. Does anyone know where I could find...
I have all my new Energy Suspension cab mounts in place but can't find the tightening torque values for the bolts anywhere! Does anyone know where I could find these?
It has been a while since I have posted on here, but I just recently adopted another truck and have some projects I need to get working on. The truck will be nice as it is a four door with a lot more room for the family than the extended cab. It was rebuilt years ago after an unkown (to me)...
The Rough Country one I just put on my truck were the same. The longer end went towards the front. I had to drill out and remove the factory bracket as it would have been in the way of the add a leaf. The height is perfect and the ride is a lot nicer now. I did have to get the alignment...
That first setup looks just like my system. One thing I noticed is that the downpipe has been cut off just inches from the turbo. It is right in the middle of the 4th picture.
Well I got it done yesterday! I used the Rough Country set from JC Whitney.
Here is how the truck sat before:
And After:
Now I just have to get the camber back into normal. It surprised me how far out it looks, maybe it was set by a PO to the saggy springs setting:
Hopefully...
I thought the actual contacts wore out on the sending units? If they do just get dirty that would be cool. On the other had I would hate to get all the way into the tanks and not have the parts on hand...
Hi everyone,
I have some work planned on my fuel tanks this spring/summer. One is to do the fuel neck mod and the other is to replace the sending units and the pick up tubes in both tanks. So I called the Genuine Ford Parts place <...
My fast idle/timing advance is malfunctioning. With the timing stuck on advanced the truck seems to have a bit more power making me believe my timing has become retarded over time. Does anyone know of a trustworthy Seattle area shop that has the proper equipment to time our trucks?
Thanks...
So my truck's fast idle is coming on as normal at start-up, but it won't shut off after it reaches 120-130 degrees like it should. What have you guys found to be the common failure? I am thinking the temperature switch has gone bad? IIRC it is the one on the drivers side near the front of the...
Zigg,
I want to change it from the drain plug location, mainly because it is a bit of a pain every time you cange the oil. Maybe Pre-Luber have come up with a better fitting to make it easier. Secondly by pulling from the bottom of the oil pan the pump is pulling all the garbage that sinks...
I've got one on my truck, but it was on there when I got it. I have never really checked to see where the oil is pumped back into the engine. Guess I should figure that out. Leaving for a camping trip tomorrow though so I don't think I will be able to let you know right away, sorry Zigg...
