Anyone here done a 4 bolt steering gear swap? I think they're 97+ then they changed slightly mid supre duty. I've read on some other forums guys with bricknose broncos bolt gears from 1999-2000 econoline vans right up. Ill be redoing all my steering linkages as well as a new box. Just wanted to...
Thank you. Lots of good info! Youre definitely right about coolant temp not correlating to IP temp. That does make alot of sense. Im just going to get a new IP. I Ive been eyeing CDDs pumps but not really sure which one i should get to pair good with the banks kit. Any suggestions on best...
Thats what i found strange but its always still fully warmed up when it happens and i wouldn't think it would need them to fire but im not sure with these motors. And not at all to be honest. I'll have to go out and check resistance of the GPs and read up on how to test the controller.
Sorry, I just added it! The weather here in sc has been in the mid 90s and lots of humidity, every time it's happened. The GP controller every once in awhile with key on will click repeatedly. Not every time the key is on but maybe 1 put of 4 key cycles. I'm planning on buying the controller and...
Hey guys. My truck has been having a crank no start with extended driving. It doesn't seem to do it when I let it idle in the driveway even long after it reaches operating temp maybe just a slight hard start if I'd shut it down and fire it back up. But after extended drives, like going to the...
I just plugged one side of the old evap and put some compressed air through it. And it does have a leak somewhere in the fins. It loses pressure out the side quickly. So I'll definitely need a new evap. Figured I'd check before I went through the trouble of putting it all back together. I did...
I would. Only problem is the original quick disconnect fitting is all messed up and I'm pretty sure thats where it was leaking from. Not really sure what happened to it but looks like someone tried to take the hose off without the correct tool
Another problem. The evaporator i ordered for this vehicle specifically is wrong. The brakes that stick of the evap core outside the hvac box is too short and won't let the box seal... anyone know a correct part #? I ordered this one from rock auto. Haven't had any problems before but this is...
They do have one from a couple manufacturers that I've seen but I'll just stick with the red for now. If it's not cold enough maybe I'll switch over later on
Do you recommend a variable orifice tube? I've heard mixed things about them. Like them failing often so I just got a motorcraft red fot. Just wondering if it'd he worth trying one. I live in upstate sc and it's hot and humid most the year so the colder the better
My liquid line to evap inlet was not holding and pressure so I'm re-doing most of my ac system. Everything but the compressor and condenser. The compressor is a replacement that the PO put in awhile back and it's a 4 seasons so I dont have high hopes for it but It looks like it's in good shape...
I've got the wastegated one. But its that blue hump connector between the hat and the compressor outlet. I dont know if it's so old that it shrunk or what. but I after I disassembled everything to do the intake hat gasket it just doesn't seem to be long enough now no matter how I put it on. It...
I ripped it apart this morning before work and put a tape measure. I measured 2.25 ID about also the intake hat inlet measured about the same. So I just ordered one that size off Amazon. Forgot to measure the length so I just got a 4 inch one and I'll cut off what I need..
Does anyone know the size of the turbo outlet on the newer gen sidewinder? I need to order a new coupler from the outlet to the intake hat. Mine is not sealing at all anymore i think it's just old and maybe shrunk a little but no matter how I put it on it doesn't seal right. I'd go back out and...
also the gromet for the cdr valve isn't terrible but it's pretty stiff with a little flexibility. Do you think this should seal? It looked like the PO put red rtv around it for a better seal. Should I do the same or just check the auto parts store for something that'll fit?
The pin hole did seem to be plugged before cleaning it. I'll just wait for it to dry and see if it seems to make any difference
Very good. Its all clean now. I just checked my tubo and it doesn't have any play out of the normal and the compressor side looks surprisingly clean as well. So that's...
Ok. The diaphragm seems to close and hold if i blow through the pinhole but not through either of the big holes. It just flows straight through. I know its pretty simple design but just wasn't 100% sure how it's supposed to operate normally. I can't really seem to find consistent tests on the...
