That doesn't sound right. If we're to believe the dimensions on their website, the 4-row isn't any taller than the 3-row, and the 3-row in mine clears the hood just fine. I even have one of those caps with the pressure relief valve on it (which means it's taller than most), and it's still no...

    LIFT PUMP BLOCK OFF PLATE

It's a special order for most shops (AZ as well, I checked), unless your local parts store has a 'high performance' section (and I'm talking the one with cams and heads, not fartcans and conical air filters). I bought mine on Amazon, like I do most things nowadays. Mike

    Tires

I run the stock 235/85/16 on mine. On the stock steelies they looked skinny, but then I switched to a set of Alcoas off a OBS. The wheel is .5" wider, so it stretches them out just a bit more. Gives it a nice stance, IMHO. No sense in pushing wider rubber if you don't need it, and since I don't...

    Champion radiator

Looks legit. 4-Row: http://www.championradiators.com/product/MC1165 3-Row: http://www.championradiators.com/product/CC1165 Note the only dimensional difference between the two is the core thickness (extra .75"). I'm definitely keeping my eye on this. I have the 3-row, and while it's...

what do you guys think of this grille?

I think it looks dated, and not in a good way. Of course, give it another 20 years and they'll be all the rage but you won't be able to find one... Mike

turbos, wastegates, and blow off valves.

As has been mentioned, diesels don't need BOVs because there is no throttle plate. Throw all the air you want down a diesel engine. Until you add more fuel with your right foot, it's not doing anything but pump it through. Wastegates allow you to use turbo designs that spool up quicker...

why do you drive a idi?

    1. I like Ford trucks. I'm especially fond of bricknoses, but would consider an OBS if I ever found a better deal on one versus an equivalent bricknose (hasn't happened yet) 2. I like 3/4-ton bricknoses because I like to drive stick and had bad experiences with the M5OD in my first bricknose...

Power steering Hose Leaking Not Pump How do i repair this ?

I cannot tell if that's the pressure or the return hose based on your pic. Either way, my recommendation would be to replace the whole hose. If that's the return line, you can use bulk hose. Mike

Is there any easy way to test whether a pyro gauge is working?

Ground out the leads on the gauge to one another. If the gauge pegs, it's probably the sensor. Mike

Power Steering pump pulley removal trouble

Just did this job a few weeks back using the rental from Autozone. No issues, but I did find that I had to turn around the two halves of the tool to get it to seat correctly. Looked backwards to me, but it worked. Pulley has to come off to remove the pump from the bracket, but you could...

    Time for Wheels/ Tires

OEM 16s will fit fine. Aftermarket 16s should be test-fit first. I have OEM Alcoas on my bricknose. They clear the caliper fine, but it's CLOSE. That's OK, though. Just means some Ford engineer did his job correctly. Mike

    Time for Wheels/ Tires

You're correct on the bolt pattern change. Ford switched from 8x6.5" to 8x170mm when they brought out the Super Duties in 99. However, the vans stayed on the older bolt pattern for a number of years more (not sure when they changed over, if ever). IIRC, while Dodge and GM did use the same 8x6.5"...

    Coolant flush to do list

My experience more or less mimicked riotwarrior's, though over a longer span of time and without the engine blowing up. I flushed the system using distilled water and just a bit of mild cleaner (Simple Green, I think). I replaced all the hoses at that time and used Fleetcharge coolant mixed...

Lost turn signals and fan motor at the same time........

So, armed with this awesome information (thanks, btw!), I went out to my truck yesterday at lunch and threw it in reverse. Lights came on. So, then I tried the HVAC and turn signals again. Everything worked just fine. So now it appears I have an INTERMITTENT electrical failure, my favorite kind...
