I have a $100 Pioneer unit I got off Amazon a little over a year ago. No CD but it has Bluetooth and works very well. My wife says the call clarity is better than my 2010 Ford Flex. For a couple bucks more they do make it with CD, but this one was cheaper and saves space (not as deep). All I...
Are you talking voltage when the GPs are cycling, like what you would read across the battery terminals? I have a voltmeter in my truck that's plugged into the lighter. It drops to low 11s or high 10s when the plugs first cycle. Always has.
Mike
Pretty sure I've read that the clutch doesn't engage until warmer than that by design. Mine usually doesn't lock up until approaching 230 most of the time, unless i have the AC on (then it's anybody's guess).

It is a common issue for them to crack solder joints. It's because of the violent shock they receive every time you pop the parking brake. Take yours out, open it up, and take a look. I was able to fix mine by just reflowing the joints again.

At that price point for an all-aluminum tig-welded radiator, you know where they're making them. As for row count, I can tell you that 4 row isn't some gimmick. It uses the same size and qty core tubes as the 3 row, so you truly are adding cooling capacity by going for it.
Mike
I installed the 3 row (CC1165), then the 4 row (MC1165). Nothing wrong with the 3 row, but I figured the extra capacity was worth it. Fairly simple install. More or less bolt-in, but i had to get new hardware to mount the fan shroud and elongate the holes on the shroud to raise it up enough that...
Pretty sure there's a sticker under my hood somewhere that recommends 5K intervals.
I use Chevron 15w40 (Delo?) because Costco sells it cheap, and i use the motorcraft FL1995 Powerstroke filter. No issues, and i don't ever need to top off between changes.
Fumoto drain valve is a nice addition...
Got it all together last night. The alternator was a drop-in, no pulley swap or re-clocking necessary (I did have to get a M8x1.25x25mm bolt for the top mount, though). I now have 14.4V at idle, and it's completely steady throughout the RPM range. With all loads on, it's still over 14V. I didn't...
So, status update....
I tried the 'check for warm alternator' method and got nothing. Putting a multimeter inline to the negative cable and checking for a current draw showed nothing as well, so my best guess is that, at minimum, the batteries are toast. A combo of being 5 years old and the...
Thankfully it's not the only vehicle in the fleet. Being SoCal, all it did was give me an excuse to ride the bike in. Woe is me!
I left the batteries on trickle chargers again last night (physically in the truck but disconnected) and checked them this morning. Passenger-side battery shows 12.X...
***short version*** Truck was over-charging. Replaced the voltage regulator but had to jump it to start it. Now it's charging 13.5V-13.8V but batteries are draining FAST when sitting. Likely that I fried a diode or two in the alternator?
***long version*** Driving home from work Thursday, I...
Why replace the pump if the one in there is fine? Aftermarket pumps are a crap shoot, even if it's Motorcraft. If it ain't broke, I'd leave it.
That being said, there's a great how to in the sticky threads for this.
Mike
Seems slightly warmer than I would expect. Mechanically, my truck is identical to yours (same radiator and thermostat, too, and my sensor is also in the overtemp port), except I have the Banks turbo system. Unloaded at freeway speeds, I may see up to 205 on a hot day uphill, but otherwise...
I'm using an Autometer digital gauge with the sender in the turbo (Banks). I regularly see 6-7 psi at idle once warmed up and it's been that way as long as I've owned it. Truck only has 92Kish original miles and runs like a champ. Running down the road, it's in the low 30s.
Mike
Any hardware store should have them. Bought mine at Ace IIRC.
I think Genlightning got out of the pump game, though. Do a bit more searching. I've seen threads with the part number listed and links to sources.

Does anyone know a source for replacement pre-molded seat foam for our trucks? The driver's side of my bench seat was getting worn out, so I took it to an auto upholsterer yesterday to have it fixed. They 'fixed' it by replacing only the foam they thought was bad, and PUT THE SEAM OF THE NEW/OLD...
