    GM needed them at the truck plant. At the time I worked for a Japanese company that made the sensors and each one was calibrated to a different spec. GM was testing the trucks to different air flows.

    Remove the old LCD odometer and ribbon from the connector and replace with the LCD and ribbon (inserted complete) from the donor truck. Press the ribbon connector back down.

    With a sharp knife gently pry up on each end of the ribbon cable connector.

    Flip over the speedometer pod and remove the two screws holding the cluster light diverter bar (also holds the LCD in position). Twist the light diverter off the alignment pins and pull out of either side.

    The odometer reads 277K (original miles). Is it possible to re-ring and new bearings? I don't want to have to get any machining work done. If it needs machining work I may look for a re-manufactured long block.
