    Lift pump replacement time

^^^^ More like macintoshes to honeycrisps. Yes, IDI and PSD have different lift pumps. But same idea -- a VERY common mod is "e-fuel". More complicated, of course, since it involves decommissioning the fuel bowl and fabbing in a different filtration system. But it is an option; just depends on...

    Led bulbs

And those ^^^^^ are white LEDs, right? The rule I've read is that, whatever color lens you're going through, you should use that color of LED. That way you don't lose as much light output. I tried green LEDs in one of our '95s once, and didn't like it, because it turned all the needles green...

    Brake master cylinder leaking?

My guess would be, lack of use dried out the seal.

Manual glow plug button good temp fix?

If a plug has no resistance, it's shorting to ground (or at least potentially shunting a LOT of current to ground). A glow plug with a broken element, like a burned out light bulb, has infinite resistance. Those aren't the ones to worry about. The ones with too-low or no resistance are the ones...

Manual glow plug button good temp fix?

OL means you're Out of Luck..... And yeah, it's high time to replace them. I think even Dave Ramsey would say you're doing right toward paying down debt by driving an older vehicle. But he wouldn't tell you to skimp on maintenance. You're already ahead of most people in debt with your DIY...

7.3L IDI turbo diesel needs 4 quarts a day

"Day" means nothing wrt. oil consumption. Do you drive 8 miles a day or 800? Or somewhere in between? For that matter, does the rate of loss change based on how much you drive per day?

    Exhaust stud tricks?

Run the double nuts down far enough on the stud to have some stud sticking out, then "damage" those threads. Then, when you turn the double nuts again, the first one MIGHT dig into the damaged threads and start turning the stud. MIGHT. Is the rounded/rusted nut still in play? If so, maybe a...

Wiring for the rear fuel tank

The rear sending unit connector does not need to have anything connected to it for the front sending unit to work. Is the selector valve still in place, and is it still electrically connected? If not, that's the problem. You'll need to jump the terminals on that connector. This -...

    1984 7.3 powerstroke build

IDM grounds by one of the wires in the connector. EVTM indicates no case ground with PCM or IDM. I've connected a spare IDM and just had it sitting loose, and it ran the truck just fine.

'88 E250 LED Headlight Upgrade Pics

Those higher color temperature blue lights throw out less usable light. The big concern with them is that those who use them generally do so thinking it makes their vehicle look cool to others, but of course it's at the expense of their ability to see at night. Same thing with smoked and...

    Dead ignition

My question was for the OP. At one turn, he says he replaced the switch, and then implies otherwise. Just trying to get a fix on what's been done. And more importantly, what's been tested.

    Dead ignition

What do you mean by "actual ignition"? You did replace the switch, right, and not the cylinder? When you say there is "a" wire getting juice, WHICH wire? You realize that there are several circuits energized and de-energized by various positions of the switch, correct? Did you test the switch...

    Need help 7.3 idi

Yes, that ^^^^^ finding puts the selector valve high on the suspect list. Another "finding" option, that would also at least put the truck on the road temporarily - find a way to bypass the FSV using "jumper" lines for supply and return, from either tank to the lines going forward to the engine...

Help me decide, E4OD vs ZF5

May or may not be relevant for a BOV; "bug out" doesn't generally imply "take a 20,000-lb TT with all the comforts of home with you". Nothing in my owner's manual, diesel supplement, FSMs, etc. that says not to tow in fifth gear with our ZF5s. Again, how relevant for a BOV? I'll take...
