    Extra Holes ?

Oh oh, you've discovered the hidden supertune access hole. Stick a 5.5mm allen wrench in there and turn it 3/8 turn, and you'll automatically add 50 HP and 5 MPG. Okay, I made that up. Isn't there a locator pin on the emblem that sits in that hole? I've never had the badges off on my OBSes...

    Power brakes/headlamps

Best way would be with a vacuum gauge. Should be at least 20 inHg at idle. Poor man's check would be simply to remove the hose and feel if it's sucking. When you use the A/C, and switch modes, do you hear the various "doors" moving as you expect? Does the air come out of the selected...

    Power brakes/headlamps

"Bricknose" is a reference to the '87-'91 GENERATION of truck. So called because the segmentation of the grille resembles (more than the other trucks) stacked bricks. Hard brakes - first thing to check is the vacuum pump. Does the truck have A/C?

    Towing Capacity without Trailer Brakes?

Traffic laws, including weight/towing limits, are set by the states. You'd have to contact the DOT of each state in which you'll be traveling to get the answers you need. If you're looking at renting, they do make tow dollies with brakes, if you have a controller.

84 6.9 wacky throttle issues./ Electric diesel fuel pump mod

Another previous owner hack job; people who do stuff like that should be issued a lifetime bus pass. +1 to Bill; if you intend to run both tanks, you'll need the FSV or manual-valve it. For the time being, you could find a way to re-plumb it so you're feeding from, AND returning to, just one...

    Rear brake linings cracked

Eeek, a core? Does that mean when you buy a RABS valve, it's a rebuild from something like THAT ^^^^^^??!? EEEK!  Parking brake is def'ly a "use it or lose it" item. And it goes both ways. Having all manuals, we use the parking brake most of the time. But we make the mistake of...

Does the lock rod fail to move? Or does it move, but fail to lock the door?

DOORS! OBS vs XL vs XLT????

Both our '95s (RC and SC) have the character line, both sides. There are for sure a lot of franken-trucks out there by now, and only incurable Ford-geeks like us would notice this particular thing 90% of the time.

    Timing tape for IP

Anybody use one of these - http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?id=20&method=mViewProduct&productid=13990 - with a timing light? Yes, they're available on this side of the pond. A little cheaper than a Ferret.

    Radiator mount question...

The person who asked is in AR, not AZ. But I doubt they use much salt there, either.... Hmm, RockAuto does list some 15 1/2" high radiators for the '92 7.3. 'Course, that's the height of the _radiator_; that does not necessarily mean that it has a smaller SUPPORT.

Tips for getting to #2 line nut on IP?

This description reminds me of an oxygen sensor socket used for gassers. I wonder if there's one the right hex size for this....

    oil leak - unknown part

So you have the shaft / rag joint disconnected at the steering box? Try just sliding it up the telescoping section; MAYBE that'll buy you the needed room :dunno: .

Try it with the shifter in various positions as riotwarrier describes. That would confirm proper NSS ops.

    92-97 hazard flasher location.

That 552 works with LEDs in our '85 and both our '95s. Also fits behind the fuse box cover. No resistors, no extra wire to ground.

    92-97 hazard flasher location.

On my '95s, I just (ahem) reach around behind it and pull it out. On the '85, I have to remove the bolts that hold the fuse box in place and shimmy it around.

    Engine Temp Idiot light..

Higher on your list than gauges should be a replacement overflow bottle. The radiator cap vents coolant to the overflow as part of normal operation, and part of that normal operation is to draw that overflow coolant back when it's needed. As it stands, when your radiator cap vents, you lose that...

WTS light only stays on 1/2 second

Voltage test of the batteries means little to nothing. If the batteries were low and it cranked slow after they were disconnected while parked, then it's pretty simple; the batteries aren't holding a charge. If you have the means to do this, next thing I'd try is to charge the batteries, then...

    Possible trade 94 for 86

Heh-heh, you have the same bumper.... Hard to tell from the angle, it looks like the '86 has Alcoas from a later truck. And is your truck an F250? If so, the trade would be a step up wrt. the front axle. Yeah, plowing is one of the hardest uses for a truck, so with the exception of the...

    Emergency Brake Emergency

Yeah, with the juggernaut of the big FLAPS chains, premium parts are getting harder to find locally. Well then, you get to run the truck in the short term on the cheap Chinese stuff, then order a set of real shoes and install them when they come in. I'm sure RA has a premium set for considerably...
