    WVO designs raw power fuge

Is it the glycerin that you were struggling with, with wvo? The glycerin is what always hurdled me with it in the past

    WVO designs raw power fuge

Yes I got it with the feed cone, VFD thing, and a heater. I will report back with results. Im hoping I can get down to the 1-2 micron range

    6.9idi head retorqueing.

Just be careful, have the engine at room temp or warmer if you can, break the bolts loose (by hand) a 1/4-1/2 a turn, then retorque back to spec or a little better if you choose. (by hand). Yes anything can break, but I have yet to break any head bolt on anything (knock on wood), so long as I...

    Walbro electric pumps?

I run several FRB-13's in various applications now and will be getting back into a WMO blend. 50/50 at most, 70/30 usually. Im and very curious as to how the FRB's will hold up. They have been great on pump fuel

    WVO designs raw power fuge

Bought a WVO Designs Extreme Raw Power centrifuge today. Going to use it mainly for spinning WMO. I run a 70% diesel to 30% WMO blend. Will report the centrifuge performance results when I have it running. Anyone on here running a WVO Designs centrifuge?

    ATF fluid change....

Yeah I have also had good results with Max Life and Lube Guard red.

    ZF6 from 7.3 P/stroke to idi swap

Ya the ZF-6 has a lower 1st and reverse, which is nice but not really worth the extra work IMO. If yours is a 4wd, you can use LO range when you are in tough spots and need a lower gear

    6.9idi head retorqueing.

In a case of next to no compression on some cylinders, as we know it's not likely that head re-torqueing is gonna do much....it may not be worth the risk (possibly a broken bolt or something) and may be worth running as is till you can pull the heads. Just my $0.69 worth.

    Mechanical V. Electric Fuel Pump

Yes. Regardless of the application or type of part, being able to service something or improving a design to increase servicability is a great improvment.

    Mechanical V. Electric Fuel Pump

Ya there really isn't a reason that an electric pump should make an engine run "smoother" compared to a mech pump unless there was an issue with the mech set up, like air intrusion or starvation for example. I do run electric for the reason of easier priming, and because good quality...

    6.9idi head retorqueing.

Yes. Well said. Although we do try to achieve a certain torque value on the bolts, sometimes if things don't feel right; you wanna go with your feel more so then the torque value. These engines are old, sometimes the bolts, threads are in un-known condition etc. It is interesting to see...

    6.9 IDI Burning Oil Excessively

Ya no doubt. Although of course it's not desirable to burn that much oil, it's not uncommon for the age of these engines and doesn't necessarily mean it's days are numbered. I tend to not worry about it too much if it runs good, just keep it topped up and one day you'll get time to look...

    6.9 IDI Burning Oil Excessively

A note with the 6.9's and their valve seal design that allow more oil to pass. (And by more oil, it's not lots. With seals in good shape, the might use just a quart or so more then a 7.3 will go thru, over the course of an oil change). They do tend to have less valve guide wear, catastrophic...

    Cold weather idling for heat

The afterglow is also an emissions function. In attempt to reduce smoke after start-up, after glowing is used to promote a hotter combustion process until cylinder temps have increased to the point where combustion is happening efficiently. I never afterglow unless the temps are low enough to...

    6.9 IDI Burning Oil Excessively

Yea they will burn the engine oil as if it's fuel, and to a certain extent; won't show any blue smoke or any other evidence of oil consumption, aside from the consumption itself. I have a couple that are doing the same thing and have seen a handful that have huge oil consumption problems also...

Failed 26 year old original db2, what’s inside? What goes wrong?

That's impressive mileage on a DB-2. Nice work. What lube additive do YOU use? (not trying to start a additive debate everyone)

Where to thread in pyrometer probe

And if anyone finds them self in a bind (drilled a hole before considering if there is enuff room to turn a tap handle) you can put a tap in a drill that has variable torque settings and GENTLY work it back and forth, CAREFULLY; and cut yourself some threads that way. I have done it a couple...

Where to thread in pyrometer probe

At the rear most of the manifold on the drivers side is where I do mine. On the top. If you are drilling and tapping the manifold while on the truck, keep in mind you need room to turn the tap handle. Think about that before drilling your hole. A probe on either side is fine, but might be a...

Do I have a limited slip rear diff?

I find that they do need a bottle of modifier once they have some miles on them and are getting worn.

The e pump thread, aka what electric fuel pump, facett.

Yes that is a nice unit. However, I have had some instances of those primer bulbs sucking air when the unit is getting long in the tooth, and is placed on the suction side of the pump. and if one is running an e pump, there is no need for a primer bulb. So might be best to avoid the filter...

The e pump thread, aka what electric fuel pump, facett.

Yup finding a good filter head is a little harder then one would think. I run a Racor 230 series filter/water separator and have for years and I run a Baldwin 1204 spin on, one piece filter on it. A Baldwin FB1311 is another filter head that will fit a Baldwin 1212 filter separator. That...

The e pump thread, aka what electric fuel pump, facett.

Walbro FRB-13 is what I have been running on a few applications for the past year, as my Carter P4070 era came to an un-reliable end. Zero problems with the Walbro's thus far

The e pump thread, aka what electric fuel pump, facett.

Quality and reliability is going down hill with most parts, including many e fuel pumps that otherwise used to provide reliable service for these trucks. As time goes on, we learn about new reliability and quality issues and have to continually go thru trial and error periods as we try out...

Why can't I adjust my timing while my engine is running?

On some timing belt driven engines like the old vw idi's and such, the pump can move with the engine running but the rubber belt also takes up a lot of the jarring/clash/zero tolerance for looseness, that a gear drive setup has.
