Changed my mind yet again and went with these:

$30 shipped, will add a switch and relay. I like this plan best because it adds the heat right where it needs it most... I realized the filter heated fuel will still need to pass through cold pump and cold...
Next question: what do you guys think about looping the return line from the IP back into the supply for the lift pump? Basically the same way we have our fuges plumbed. This way, warm fuel will quickly return to the heated filter and get warmer. Seems a lot of veg guys do this for the same...

Then noticed this and wonder if it might not have been the better choice:

Guess we'll see, cheap enough. No harm if the filter wrap doesn't work. Pry best to try something that doesn't...
For $27, I think I will probably do it before too long. My theory is that most of the coking happens when the engine and fuel are not up to temp yet, so getting the fuel hot on a cold engine will at least alleviate one of those.
Do you guys have any experience with the 12 volt wrap fuel heaters? $27 on ebay. I was thinking I'd like to get something to use until the engine is up to temp. Also thinking about adding the coolant heat exchanger I have as well, though I kinda wonder if it really would raise the temp of the...
Psyched to have the fuge going again!
Got plates on it today, drives really nice. Bumped the timing 2 degrees for a little boost in power but mostly to help with burning my fuel. Only mod I have planned. Need to get a spare filter and I'm gonna start dumping it in!
Some better pictures:
Was talking to previous owner, sounds like it has already run about 70k on wvo. I was thinking I'd add some kind of coolant heat exchanger if I have coking issues. I really dig the simplicity of one tank setups and would love to keep all this awesome trunk space.
Two problems with that. One, you'll never reach the 85psi needed using gravity, and two you need to make several "passes" through the fuge to adequately clean the oil. I spent the money to have a ready to go setup and spent $40 on 4000psi hydraulic hoses at TSC. No barbed connections. I let it...
Traded my Focus for this. It is sweet. It's had a lot of rust repair, the purple hides it pretty well though. I'm excited!
Guy had a 4spd 240 as well he let me take for a spin. What a hilarious car to drive. I could see myself owning one of those at some point too.

Here's the pump I have. Gone up in price a little. Still around $60 with 20% coupon. HF has one similar to the one you posted for about the same price with shipping. Friend has that one and works well for him too. He said mine sounds...
I think you need to find a better pump for pushing through the filters... That is, until you realize a fuge is the way to go :) Go to Harbor Freight and buy one of the $30-50 water pumps. That's what I used for almost a year and shows no signs of stopping. Waaayyyy more power than the 12 volt pumps.
Pump you have looks similar to 12v Harbor Freight diesel pump we have. If it is... Ours does not like wmo at all. Extremely slow, sounds angry, gets hot. If what you have there DOES end up liking WMO... I may be in the market for one!!
I was under the impression the Benz's were more tolerant of all alt fuels than the VW motors and had more power to boot. Otherwise I would be OK with one I suppose... VW probably gets better mileage but I don't really care. I'd kinda rather be riding in a comfy old Benz.
That one got scrapped. Loved the color. Will otherwise be shopping for turbo 5 cylinders. Would like to see for myself how horrendously slow a 4spd stick 4 cylinder is... But will probably stick with the 80-85 300D.
Picking up my Ecodiesel Ram Saturday.
Prepping Cummins for sale It will be missed... Kinda.
Shopping for junk like this now:

Mike, most people start out filtering and realize fuges are more cost effective and convenient. They do remove more junk from the wmo. My 12 valve didn't care too much, but your fuel lubricated injection pump might be pickier about viscosity and fuel pressure.
Loads of info on this site... I'd...
KDP got tabbed this winter with replacement motor. I pulled the vac/steering pump out and found the gear sheared off last week. Haven't touched it since.
I have a Focus I use as a dd. It's the truck that's still the problem! I'm just worn out. Been non stop time and money into this thing for the last 18 months.
Truck siezed either power steering or vacuum pump and left the gear rattling around inside the timing case. Left me stranded 30min from home towing my Jeep. Thank god it happened then and not 5hrs sooner.
This truck has been a headache since I got it. Breaking down with a trailer is awful. I'm...
