    When you say they don't work, are you saying that NONE of the turn signal light work? Are the front signals and rear signals working together (at the same time)? Is there a light that does NOT work?

    Unless they show signs of damage, why not? Machining the bore will require new pistons. Just clean them up and you should be GTG.

    I had a gasser truck that used 1 quart of oil but no more after the quart. I did nothing after the quart was gone. Ran great for years.

    8V71 was that engine. They made 4-71, 6V71 8V71 and 12V71. I buddy had a 2-71 powering his generator many years back. Still runs.

    I had an 8V92TA in the 1980's. The smoking Jimmy as it was known. Almost impossible to start when temps dropped below 30 F. Talk about rattling... It was pretty quick. I was only beat by one Peterbilt in the Redwood City area. I knew almost nothing about diesels back then. Sure learned quick!

    I work in the Paint Dept at Home Depot and I get asked this a lot. My answer is House paint is NOT designed to work and last at those high temperatures. Use Rustoleum Automotive paints of something like it.
