Lower oil pressure means less restrictions and more flow. Dirty oil filter could cause an increase in pressure and changing it will lower the pressure.
This sounds like a reduction of fuel flow. Pull off the fuel line to the tank and add a clear short hose. Now run it for a few seconds. What do you see? It could be something in the tank blocking the fuel.
NO PEDAL at all. The injectors will give the engine enough fuel to start. I have owned a 7.3 IDI , a 6.0 and an old 8V92TA (Detroit Diesel). None of these needed fuel to start.
I sure wish they still made ole fashion washing machines without computers! We got a computer controlled washer a year ago. It works fine but it goes thru a lot of pre washing cycles to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect. It keeps going back to HOT wash in every cycle and we have to keep setting...
These engines don't like to be babied. Get on it. Rev it up and drive it like you stole it. Being too "kind" to it just causes all sorts of small problems, like carbon build up on the valves and pistons.
