    Gauges

Im planning on ordering that 3in1 next week, Egt, boost and fuel pressure. Going to run a dedicated ground to the batter and solder all connections. Most of the issues seem to be bad grounds with those gauges. EDIT: Also I've heard wiring in a 12v regulator can solve some problems too, they...

    This weekend its finally time

By the way everyone, I have the ATS intake snail I wont be using, seems like someone is always looking for one and I've sold one on here before. Let me know if you need it!

    This weekend its finally time

The previous owner said it was rebuilt, but I have no actual proof of that, its a pretty typical line when selling a vehicle. Ill try to get a look back in there.

Yes it blocks the hole in the intake and bolts on in the old CDR holes, I dont have a pic right off hand but I can tell that, Ive make my own CDR blockoff on my old truck. So a tube off the oil fill tube for the hose, I can TIG a fitting onto the stock filler if I need to.

I like this idea! Thanks Heath, any other must do's while I'm doing this anyone can think of? I've heard of punching holes in the valley pan, where do you put the holes? Do I have to pull the intake to do so?

Thank you, where is the port on the bellhousing? Once I start getting everything in I'll decide which I will use for the turbo and which for the mechanical gauge.

    This weekend its finally time

Alright guys, turbo is finally going on this weekend after many months of parts collecting. Quick rundown of what I have: ATS/factory crossover, uppipe and drain pedestal. Russ' intake hat, Holset HX35, 38mm external wastegate. Questions I have, can I use the port from the factory oil...

    Valve cover removal

I forgot to mention, not including the head studs and valve springs, I have about $150 into the project. Most of that was the intake hat from Russ, Im not going above and beyond here.

    Valve cover removal

While those are all valid points, its not how I am going to do it. The pistons, I dont want to see them, they live a hard life. Ill do new valve seals when the head studs go in, I ordered Comp 910s with the studs. Eventually I will buy a core engine and rebuild it correctly, but for now Im just...

    Valve cover removal

The gaskets that are in there are fine, I've seen it done successfully many times on Cummins and Powerstroke applications. Ideal way to do it? Probably not, will it work? Im confident that it will. And subway what are you wanting to see?

    Valve cover removal

Using the same drain pedestal and uppipe, if the drain wont work I can fab something for that but the uppipe is just a T3

    Valve cover removal

Im not sure? I just have the ATS crossover, and uppipes, along with the pedestal and intake hat and a few misc. things.

Mileage vs rpm vs gear ratio???

Have you calculated mileage? With my t19 I don't have overdrive and with 3.55s I imagine our highway rpm might be similar, I don't have a tach however. At 65 I get between 16 and 17mpg, doesn't change considerably between my 235/85s or my 35x12.5s. I have a gps odometer so don't have to...

Perfect! Thank you, it will be the stock valve cover not the turbo one if that makes a difference

    Valve cover removal

Might be a stupid question here guys, been getting impatient waiting for funding for my head studs. I have everything else for my HX35 project, I have a 14psi external wastegate ready to go on with it. Is it possible do get the passenger valve cover off with the factory/ATS uppipe in place...

    Idle Fuel Consumption

Stepping into this a little late but the 3gph estimate is a little high, on a Powerstroke, maybe. Mechanical engines use less fuel at idle than an electronic. My truck has started every day this year, its got down to about 0° here. That said when I was in college I had a 6.9 that had bad glow...

    bullet proof TTB

I wish mine held up, broke the center u-joint yoke, and the drivers side steering yoke. With my winter tires one.. (235/85/16 vs my 35x12.50 summer)

    bullet proof TTB

That was just as I was hanging the axle under there, it has the factory D50 brakes and the knuckles reamed for 1 ton Chevy TRE's over the knuckle and a "Y" link steering setup.

Best way to build a TTB, trucks trailered/off road only before anyones panties get in a bunch

    bullet proof TTB

I run 38.5x16 Swampers on a D50, its not really "TTB" anymore but it hasnt broke. 1350 u-joints can take some abuse.
