    Gauges

Dang, ordered my Glowshifts Friday, just picked them up from the post office. Will install after work and report back.

    Gauges

That's what I chose, ordered 35psi boost and 1500 degree pyro on Friday. Thinking I will add a cowl mounted Autometer Ultra-nite fuel pressure later on. Also have oil pressure and water temp going in, looks like its gauge install week.

Facet Duralift With Turned Up IP & Turbo

To who asked about the Carter pump, mine hasn't missed a beat in 6 months. Not significantly long term but I like it.

Why does my truck only hold 10gals in each tank?

My rear tank leaks so I only use the front till I get off my butt and put my 30 gallon in the rear. The most Ive ever put in the front is about 11 gallons, mostly because the gauge plummets to empty shortly after half tank. Ive never run it out though, probably still has quite a bit left in it I...

    Gauges

Gettin ready to pull the trigger today, I've heard bad things about Glowshift fuel pressure senders though. I'm having a hard time deciding between the 3 in 1, or getting a mechanical boost (I'd rather have the 35 psi anyway) and pyro separately. The do a mechanical fuel pressure later. Any...

    supercharged IDI

I suppose that's why heavy duty diesels moved from superchargers to turbos, and Detroits added a turbo on top of the necessary blower. Not to mention turbos are banned in a lot of sanctioning bodies. Wonder what pro-mod would look like if turbos were allowed. The wasted energy of a turbo is less...

A properly sized turbo setup will out perform a supercharger in almost every application

A Single Drop of Oil Spells Doom...

I prefer the Ford setup really, the Chevys are almost too easy to turn IMO, I like a little steering feedback.

Here you can see where the HX35s bigger exhaust housing would prevent an intake into the engine Compressor housing, meet injector line The industrial turndown intended for an upright stack, lots of tight fits on this project

91 7.3 Starting issues.... Please Help!

I think you need a mechanic... Does it smoke at all while cranking? If you have a mechanical fuel pump push the schrader valve on the fuel filter housing while cranking, if you have fuel there crack a couple injectors and see if you have fuel there. Make sure the solenoid in the injection pump...

91 7.3 Starting issues.... Please Help!

Will not crank or will not start?

    Weird starting issue

Mine has a similar issue, will start fine overnight or long periods of sitting, or less than an hour or so. But if it sits for 1-2 hours it will start and immediately die, then start after a 10-15 second crank and run fine. I was thinking air intrusion as well, except it wont do it overnight...

Definitely worth it, there is no comparison. This might hurt some feelings but it feels like a real diesel now, and I even liked it before. Now I love it, with the 9cm exhaust housing spool is awesome, it will come on boost whenever I want it. As far as things to note doing this install on...

    Duralift not pumping enough fuel?

Wide open at high rpm for long periods can go through A LOT of fuel, NA Ive gone through probably 3 gallons in about 5 minutes, literally watch the gauge fall fuel consumption.

Thank you, if you were thinking about this particular turbo there are a few tips I'll share that are fairly important, on my.phone right now or I would type it out. Thanks Heath, I welded a piece of 1" tube onto the oil fill neck and ran a hose from there.

See if this works. 0-70 something, on gravel so it spun through third and made the video shaky. Don't mind the temporary boost gauge. Also the windows are down and this was with just the downpipe...

Correct, original application is a Cummins 24v auto. The whole engine seems quieter, a lot of that could be the "muffler" effect on my straight pipe 5" stack. It's actually very quiet though, decent amount of whistle but not terribly noticeable in the cab. Wide open on boost it has a pretty mean...

    Duralift not pumping enough fuel?

I would pull the schrader valve out, and screw in any pressure gauge you have handy. Most have 1/8 pipe threads, run it out and ziptie it to the cowl. Crude but effective, and its only temporary. That way you can see it drop while driving under the same conditions.

    Duralift not pumping enough fuel?

That and availability is why I went with the 72gph Carter, I had thought I was just being overkill though. I'd be curious to see you put a gauge on it and see if you are actually losing pressure.

Well update if anyone is interested, got everything installed. Ended up going with an HY35, exhaust housing on the HX was too big to fit using the ATS up pipe and pedestal. Wastegate is opening at 10psi, I'm comfortable with that until I get studs. If anyone has any questions ill be happy to answer.

    Lift pump

I've been running a Carter 4070 (4-6psi 72gph) for about six months now, No complaints whatsoever. Ill warn though there is only one place on the frame tall enough to mount it, right near the front cab mount. Just my .02
