Searched but cant find my answer, Comp 910s

Wrapped it up Saturday evening. All said and done it wasn't that hard, worst springs were #8, along with the only semi difficult stud being the rearmost on the driver side head. Once the heater box is off theres plenty of room on the passenger side. Intercooler is also in along with the...

Searched but cant find my answer, Comp 910s

Since I don't have an installed height micrometer, Russ, along with a lot of Powerstroke write ups say to put .030 shims on. That is what I've heard as a good baseline without measuring equipment. The shims are being installed under the rotators

Ok in 1/4 turn increments its 1&4, 2&5, 7&6, 3&8. Turning the crank clockwise for future reference if anyone needs it. Found that on another forum so I hope its right :D

If someone could tell me the order they come up after 1/4 that would be great. Also this is the first time I've had the valve covers off, unfortunately it still has 6.9 style rockers. Too bad i got rid of both my 7.3 sets after my old truck

Well todays the day, starting on it after work. Went ahead and ordered a .030 shim pack so thats how they are all going in. Going to try to knock out the studs, springs, intercooler, water/meth and my new boost controller all this weekend. If I make it I'll report back Monday with the results...

    Not reaching Operating Temp

Thats where mine usually runs, 130 or less, in the 90+ weather we have had here its made it to 160-180 a few times. Only time I have ever seen 200+ was towing heavy. Ive never even checked the t-stat though.

Stock cam, also I haven't towed with the intercooler or water meth yet, this was with just the turbo. On 6-7% grades I can typically pull loaded at 55-60 and 1200*, needless to say I'm excited for the intercooler. And you are right, that 2-3 shift in a t19 is killer, gov spring should help with...

Mine pulls reasonably well at 16k gross with 3.55s and 35" tires. I wouldn't trade them for deeper unless I had OD, already at 2000rpm at 60mph

Your egts make me wish I had the bigger exhaust housing, I'm expecting my FrozenBoost kit tomorrow according to FedEx so that should help. Glad someone else has good results with the Holset, I think people under rate them!

Yes the hotside was very close the the actual factory intake with the HX35, so much that I wouldn't have been able to get an intake hat on. Not sure if the R&D move the actual entrance point on the intake? Biggest tip I can give you is to get an instant 90 degree turndown for the exhaust...

    Let's Talk Intercoolers

I'm using the intake hat that Russ makes on mine, its a nice piece. Spectre sells a "carb" hat that should fit ours but it exits slightly downward. Could be an issue. Mine is getting a Frozenboost air/water FWIW. Not sure of many other options that fit the "wide" radiator

No offense taken, I should have known that, been a long time since I messed with any kind of AC. An installed height micrometer to properly shim them. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Leeland, just read a very extensive thread on powerstrokearmy, unfortunately I don't have shims or a spring mic. You will gain seat pressure by putting them in without shims but not nearly as much or necessarily even. Still gotta be better than old stock springs. Now I just have to decide...

Thanks for the info guys, I have an overhead spring compressor and can borrow the "pliers" type. What special one is required? Tahoe: Yes I'm studding without lifting the heads, one at a time. I know most on here don't like the method but that's the way its getting done. Id not like to start...
