    Cast iron will produce a powder rather then a stringy chip,like common H.R or C.R. steel, especially when drilled by hand with low feed rate, wouldn't worry too much, also a majority of "chips" come up the drill bit and out, grease on the tap will catch most of chips produced by tapping, again...

    Glow plug broke. Need help.

    I had #1 broken on truck we have, broke on p.o. I drilled the center of it out for #8 screw and tapped it, then screwed bolt into it used a slide hammer to gently tap it out, it was broken flush to top of head so was easy to see and work on. Other 7 gp were autolite, not sure what broken one...

    Moose Jr. Arrived today

    we did injectors( misters) and glow plugs, (motorcraft) with new baby moose pump also, started right up after purging, dozen or so try's with long breaks for starter, probably would have started sooner if we had glow plug relay hooked up,oops!

    FWIW 17 years in my diesel ford tractor with texaco elc, no leaks,no problems, still clear red fluid, changing this year to zerex precharged elc, same color to! lol think it was about 10 a gal amazon prime, boy they ate the shipping on that, got 2 case's.

    Yes, contacted 1 last week still waiting for a reply, local guy said he can time by ear, rather do it right. may do the loaner timing device, once brake lines repaired can drive more, when driven a few miles before brake line went, had very good power and pickup. Highly suggest OP do glow plugs...
