well I did get a haynes ford truck manual and 30 or so ford shop advice monthly flyers they distributed to dealers, some from as early as 63 thru 72 see my pre idi post the whole lot for 5$ probably would have paid 25$for all.

    Pre IDI diesels?

Found this interesting, picked up some Ford shop advice bulletins from the 60s at an estate sale, some engine specs for Ford offered diesel engines in light trucks, also a Cummins engine that was offered in large trucks.

strange, 12 mm is .472 so a bolt would be slightly under that a couple thou, but dont think .454.

How long to swap out injectors

Oh, BTW we took pump off with the lines on, but we were replacing pump also, may have to modify a wrench for pump removal. Clean all the bores best you can before pulling injectors and glow plugs, that way no junk falls in when you pull them out.

How long to swap out injectors

Might be a good time for glow plugs also, much easier with lines off, yes, compressed air, cleaners, vac. lots of stuff gets down in them holes, clean entire top of engine, we took hood off also, need two people for this, I think this the most gain for least work, lets a lot of light in also.

    Post injector swap issue...

BTW Koch, like your seat reamer tool also! My injectors when replaced were original, so a little carb cleaner took care of my seats.

    Post injector swap issue...

Exactly right, couldn't agree more, care must be taken!Always risky working on higher mileage engines like removing broke glow plug done that! Pre-charge the lap with compound and plug the threaded hole, also compressed air via glow plug to clean out. We are not talking about a new engine in...

    Post injector swap issue...

A piece of wood dowel, brass or even steel the right dia and flat on the end will clean seat up also, just put some coarse valve grinding compound on the end and spin it around, have to be careful with cutting type tools so that you don't nick or gouge the seal surface. Hardwood dowel...
