    Question for F350 4x4 owners

I guess I should not have said "started out". I'm not talking in terms of sag here. I'm just saying a spring that is straight and flat while compressed under load and then returns to a positive arc when the truck is lifted on the hoist, to me that is a positive arc spring. It certainly is...

    Question for F350 4x4 owners

How can this be if most people are saying that their springs end up flat with the weight on them. They must have started out something higher than flat with out being compressed by the weight.

Lazy weekend afternoon..... MPG build thread #2

I was going to suggest a 7.3 E4OD donor truck just for simplicity. I would just pick the truck in the $1000 range that runs best and has the least issues, anything cheaper will most certainly have issues. I would suspect adapting the cable shift would be easy, even more so with a complete...

    Question for F350 4x4 owners

So can anyone else comment if their springs sit flat or still have a bit of positive arc when loaded?

    Question for F350 4x4 owners

I will be putting a SKY RSK in the front so the rear will need to go up at that point. It currently sits pretty level and still has the 250 block in the rear. I also have the 350 blocks at my disposal.

    Question for F350 4x4 owners

These have a nice postive arc when unloaded as do any of the F350 springs in Dana 60 swap articles I have seen. "i am running stock gasser front springs in mine. work great. " Nice to hear someone else has tried this. Did you do so on purpose or is it just what you had. Does it seem to ride...

Lazy weekend afternoon..... MPG build thread #2

245/75r16 came on 7700 F-150's and would work well. 225/75r16 are also easy to get a load range E tire as well. Not to go on and on about the 302 but I could never understand why people would put the carb setup on. It had no where near the low end torque that the long runner EFI manifold gave.

    Question for F350 4x4 owners

Just did my Dana 60 front axle swap and it went very well. I used a KP Dana 60 out of a '88 F350 that had a gas motor, possibly a 351. I was wondering about where do a stock F350 diesel springs sit in terms of flex/sag. These gasser front leaves sit about flattened out with the weight on. I...

Lazy weekend afternoon..... MPG build thread #2

That's a nice old F150. I have an '85 that's almost the same but is 4wd and still has the fuel injected 302. I know this doesn't help your cause but my F150 gets anywhere between 15-20mpg (imperial). I don't drive it enough to do much accurate calculations, but it is very respectable. It is also...

Ford Diesel Fuel Level Sendin Units

I bought a new rear one from Ford a couple months ago form my '93 and I would think an '88 would be the same thing. The sending unit they sell you is for a '96 and uses a different wiring connector that is similar to an O2 sensor connector.

What do you guys think of this truck for $900?

I bought the Diesel in my sig a month ago in Maple Ridge BC for $1000. Drive home was about 24hrs (did it piecemeal). It was a bit touch and go. I would do it again but on a $5000 ish truck that would likely be a little less iffy. I packed tools in my suitcase no problem also. The truck has...

anyone ever use one of these?

I had one of the original small black ones. I used it for tuning my Mustang 5.0 and the HP readings seemed pretty accurate. I tried it in a chipped 6.0 one time and it didn't want too work very well with the bigger vehicle for some reason. These newer ones may be better.

What do you guys think of this truck for $900?

Ok, this is for an '85 F-250 so your '86 E350 should be close. The 12 volt constant wire is a large Yellow. From this wire you will energize the following circuits as required. Red/green stripe will energize the FSS and Glow plug controller Red/blue will energize the starter circuit The...

What do you guys think of this truck for $900?

That's just it, Touching two wires together that would engage the starter then taking those wires and tying them together would just make the starter run continuously. That's why the movie version of hotwiring looks so cheesy. It is fairly easy to accomplish on these old trucks however, but...

    Tires...beating a dead horse again...

I am going to be picking up a set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs for my F-150. They are new and look pretty good for an AT. They also look like a good winter tire although that won't help you. They are one of the cheapest in the size I'm looking for also.

What do you guys think of this truck for $900?

"Which two wires I see in the movies the pull and put together until the starter does its job and then they twist and join? That's a lot easier and quick. I would like to know just in case." You're joking here right??????

6.9 with a turbo and big tires = power loss?

Really? I thought I was looking at a minimum 4" lift and some minor fender trimming aside from shimming out the front bumper. What is the minimum rim offset to help with keeping the front tires off of the leaf springs and improve turning radius?

Anyone have any insight on what amount of lift would be minimum and what offset of rims would be ideal for 37" on a '93?

    Fuel Tank pick-ups

I was in the same predicament recently. I had to bite the bullet and order the Ford one. It was about $290 employee cost here in Canada so consider yourself lucky. The listing should tell you that you need a connector kit to fit to your truck as the sender is for a 96 and up I think. The...
