Frozen.. I have a ranger gear splitter as well.. they are awesome..I pulled it out in favor of a 5-speed behind a 4bt but I amam somewh limited on driveline length.. and with my divorced transfer case, that nine inches was killing me. Previous owners scooted engine forward.. would get hung up on...
I secured a commercial garage to do my engine swap. It has a huge lift, and everything I need to get the job done.right now I am contemplating whether it would be easier to set the motor and tranny and transfer case in one-piece with the cab off.. or as the old Johnny Cash song says one piece at...
I have had both kits.. the wastegated and the non wastegated.. it seemed like the non wastegated worked better down low. That is an awesome set up really.
This is an unneeded donor that my brother has. Remember, always set your parking brake. This one rolled away. I'll bet the original owner had an oh crap moment.
Well, it is spraying out the injector on 1 and 3. I didn't check any of the others. It is a rolling fast. No smoke out the exhaust.I'm beginning to think that that little clunk I'm hearing while it is rolling over must be something in the timing components or something. I even shot it with ether...
Set a voltage meter to d.c. Put leads on your battery, observe voltage at idle and slowly bring RPMs up while watching the meter. This should give you some indication of what the charging state is.
Make sure the ground from the body to the negative post on the battery is intact.. For that matter look for a ground from the engine to the body as well.
128 k miles. Comes with a vacuum pump rebuild kit. I never thought to snap a couple pics.sending a rollback to get it so I don't have to license and insure it to go 3 miles. And it's right beside the highway patrol barracks..lol
I went to deliver some parts that I sold, and found at 85 300 turbo diesel Mercedes. Promptly purchased it. It's been sitting 13 years in his garage ,fired right up. I don't know a lot about them but they seem to be a very durable engine.
This is fresh from the wellhead..lol..I will snap a pic..almo almost honey clear..and I'm sure I'm not doing the injection system or pump any favors. But I have spares for everything on the property.
Thewes.. I'm not after big power. Although the turbo certainly helps. I have about all the clean dry crude oil that you could ever want to run. I have ran it on and off for years and these old idi engines. I recently built a pretty crude filter setup, although I have ran it unfiltered in the...
If I had realized that the IDIT engine was so different,I would have just bought a non turbo and found a used turbo setup. But I heard the engine run before I bought it.Then this flexplate thing came up.They aren't just laying everywhere it appears. Then my brother offered up this powerstroke...
Don't be scared of the 48re.As a precaution,tore mine down a 415k miles and replaced a few things..it has towed it's whole life..now at 487 or so..works great still.
It is today's project.. 8 new glow plugs.. fresh fuel.. and installed a known good injection pump. Also some fresh gasoline and a rag.. fresh can of starter fluid.. one way or another it's going to start today.if not..2 options..I have a good idit...or..my brother offered me this truck for a...
Thewes.. I just found it using the search feature and re wording it. The IDIT flexplate can be identified using the welded on weight, whereas the normally-aspirated unit has no weight.
I found a thread titled C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT. But the pictures are gone from the thread. It does state that you can tell the turbo from the non-turbo by the weight that is welded on there. But it doesn't say which one is which.lol
