Best RTV to seal the injection pump gear housing?
Hello all, two months ago I took off the IP gear housing and since then it has leaked oil into the valley pan and dripped out of the back of the block through the drainage hole. I used grey RTV and that did not work. Is there any better alternatives? Also should I put thread sealant in any of...- jetfly12

Hard starting when it's 80 degrees outside
It indeed was the glow plugs! I figured i could check for continuity in lieu of a test light and all had none. I must of fried them! Thanks for your quick response. I will delete this thread in about an hour to clear up the listing.- jetfly12

Hard starting when it's 80 degrees outside
When the truck has been sitting overnight, I let the glow plugs heat up for 10 seconds with a manual override momentarily switch, start cranking and I see raw fuel out the exhaust 2 seconds into cranking and it's so hard to start, it takes about 20 30 seconds of cranking. I know for a fact that I don't have a PSD. I have water temps and oil pressure on my stock gauges and none are indicating anything bad and all is normal. I will look in my Chilton manual again but if that is all what is hooked up to, I may just ignore the problem. But is there is anyway to reset...- jetfly12

I can assure you, I have the proper hoist for the job. Not a cheap harbor freight haha thanks for the concern. I may replace the head gaskets and studs but more importantly, I will be using RTV for the pan, replace the valve cover gaskets, and I'd would also like to do the rear main seal and oil...- jetfly12
