I looked up ball joints and that seems to be it. I am seeing now that that is probably why I had a pull to the left on the steering wheel. So I looked up the parts in rock auto and I think ill just replace all of them at the same time. Should I replace the tie rod end too?
Im not sure if this post is appropriate for this forum
This picture is from an 1994 e350 ambulance IDI.
It looks like it holds the mounts for the wheels themselves. The boot that seals it came off. not sure if I should replace it.

I have a 7.3 IDI and about 5 gallons of old brake fluid. It's essentially hydraulic fluid with anti corrosion additives in them right? Master cylinder has rubber seals and they never rot out. I'm doing some research and it says that dot 3 is required to not break down any seals or corrode any...
raw diesel from the pump is not as well filtered as gasoline, that is why we have huge filters on diesel engines.Military used WMO on our IDI engines so they dont have to bring in as much diesel to foreign countries. Personally, I think WMO is good to just run after filtering. They do mix...
I ... unfortunately did not. It didnt have any in there before either. I did put some thread locker on there. The lipstick style thread locker that you wipe on the threads. I think it would keep it sealed.
I think the spacer was placed on the wrong side of the flexplate, thats why it was making a loud noise. like 20% sure the torque converter was hitting the flexplate wrong or something and making a sound like that. There is definitely a leak somewhere tho.
So I finally got around to taking the flex plate out. There were no cracks. However, im not sure if the space was placed correctly before because the new flex plate is thicker

I can feel the powersteering "back off" if i keep pressure towards left or right. I feel like its electronic control that is doing this. If I turn the wheel to the left/right and keep the torque constant, the steering assist would "let go". when I put more torque, it goes back easy. I am not...
I have had three rebuilts, all sloppy. I destroyed one in the driveway by over tightening.
how did it fail? I am concerned that I over tighten mine. how do you know its over tightened?
Im in the same process with my ambulance in terms of registration. My registration says it is commercial. I dont know if I can drive it as I dont have a commercials license. What did you end up doing in order to drive it legally?
what parts would I need to change a flexplate? Is it just the literal flexplate? No gaskets? maybe just a tranny jack? this e350 has me feeling like im training for the contortionist section of the Olympics.
the guy that sold it to me said that he lost a belt before. Could that have broken the flex plate? I'm a little intimidated of removing a tranny. the flexplate does not have any play if I try to wiggle it from the access port. Not sure if that is a proper test for it. The teeth looks like its...
the exhaust is almost smokeless. Might be an advance tick? the sound is more noticeable at the bottom rear of the engine. I might be hearing the exhaust or the transmission clunking
Give it to me straight doc. do I have to put her down?
7.3 idi 1994 ambulance.
not sure if its normal or not. it drives ok. shifts normally. it did that thing once where the starter did not engage the flywheel. it also had coolant inside the access cover when i opened it
