I use my truck for hunting and it regularly sits for weeks at a time. I will say make sure you get any air intrusion issues dealt with or they'll drive you batty with a truck sitting for that long.
This reminds me of the scene in Tango and Cash:
Tango: I've got good news and bad news.
Cash: what's the bad news?
Tango: we're ALMOST of out gas!
Cash: what the good news?
Tango: we're ALMOST out of gas!
In the spirit of "what did you do with your truck today" I propose what did you break on your truck today. Seems like every time I fix something I accidentally break something, it's to be expected on a 25 y/o truck. This is meant to be light hearted, not serious btw.
Replacing the fipl...
Yeah those. Mine are not close together, I think they've been run for awhile and have vibrated enough that they are no longer side by side but separated by about 4mm or so and are not on the same plane.
94 7.3l. When I bought it the PO had installed new pump and injectors at some point but didn't put the clamps back on the lines cuz reasons. What's the proper way to put them back on? I looked in my shop manual but didn't find the answer. I'm assuming crack the lines at the injectors so...
OK cool. This is my hunting/wheel'n truck but I'm trying to keep it as rust free as possible. Frame has 0 rust. Had the typical Ford rusted out fenders but only passanger side oddly enough. Drivers side is fine. Now she's rust free.
Found the solution to my issue. I needed the shift tube damper/bushing. Looks like this. This is for a super duty but fit my 94 perfect. This one is rubber but there are also plastic ones. Instantly firmed the shifter right up.
I didn't do it as I know nothing about body work but I had it done for me, had rust cut out of fenders and repaired. I did provide the supplies, paint and will be waxing it. Does that count?
So my 94 dash frame shell is cracked all to heck. I think the PO only had power tools at his disposal cuz every single mount point and screw clip is busted. The light switch basically spins in place. Anyone have any ideas on how to repair it short of replacing the entire dash shell? I've...
Hey folks,
So the shifter is loose in the ole ferd, figured I'd tighten the bolts under the dash to fix it. Nope, still loose. So I dropped the steering column and replaced the bushings in the shift tube. Nope, still loose. The shifter itself where it attaches to the column is very loose at...
