    Turbo cleaner spray?

Since Jasper didn't answer your question .......... lol Probably many things can plug the EBP, but poor combustion is a common cause. Injector issues, EGR issues, turbo issues, etc., even tuning can cause excess carbon. Biased sensors also, like IAT2, MAP, etc. I like to watch fuel economy...

    Turbo cleaner spray?

Hmm, sounds like a smart plan to steam out something that can rust and stick.

    Turbo cleaner spray?

Definitely not arguing, but very curious - How would it clean the exhaust side after going through the pistons? I am assuming it is a fuel additive then .... maybe mistaken there? The thread below is what people typically think of when discussing "washing the turbo blades". It is a water and...

    Turbo cleaner spray?

The only way to clean the turbo's turbine wheel inlet guide vanes is to take it apart. I believe the cleaner you are talking about is to clean the compressor wheel blades.

    2003 6.0 Rough Idle, Low Power/Over Power

It is easy to break the connectors. A tip is to push in on the connector before depressing the locking tab. Then remove.

Still acting erratically? If so, I would then look for FICM codes and also monitor FICM MPower and LPower parameters.

    2003 6.0 Rough Idle, Low Power/Over Power

^ good advice above! It always helps to have the PCM scanned for codes and to collect engine operation data. While you are deciding on what tool to get for reading your engine PIDs, you can check the MAP sensor hose for cracks and signs of leakage. Also, you probably should check the ICP...

Bad 2 weeks with a good end.....and new truck

A bad combination is a tall "aftermarket" oil filter cap and a Motorcraft oil filter. This combination does not enable the oil filter cannister drain valve to be closed. This can cause a LOT of problems (lack of oil flow to critical components, lack of filtration, lack of cooling because the...

Bad 2 weeks with a good end.....and new truck

Pretty much use only OEM or go with the expensive BulletProofDiesel coolers. Sinister coolers don't cool as well, Dorman is junk, etc.

Bad 2 weeks with a good end.....and new truck

The 06 weaknesses are the discharge STC fitting on the HPOP, the EGR cooler, the fuel pressure regulator spring, and the FICM. Hopefully the EGR cooler that went into it was a BulletProofDiesel one or at least the shell and tube design. I can't imagine at 250k miles that the STC fitting hasn't...

    Slow to move fuel gauge?

The excursion had a different tank and a different sending unit. Short beds typically have 29 gallon tanks (that can cram in 34 gallons). So a 38 gallon tank may be able to cram in 46 who knows, seems like a lot though. It would sure go slow at the end unless harpooned.

    Slow to move fuel gauge?

The Ford Body Builders guide states that the max tank size was 40 gallons (and those are chassis cabs) unless you have a motorhome. Otherwise the max is 38 gallons (but you could probably stuff a little extra in them with a "harpooned" tank...

    Slow to move fuel gauge?

Sounds like an aftermarket tank. Which might cause the erratic operation of the level indication. I think 39 gallons is the max, so I wonder how can the "miles to empty" be correct with a larger aftermarket tank?

    Slow to move fuel gauge?

This Ford Broadcast Message might help (but snicklas is correct, the early 03's had this problem and maybe a new sending unit would permanently resolve it). Mysterious antifreeze/coolant leak

Not sure I follow you - there is only one EGR cooler hose. You dont need to remove turbo to change the EGR cooler hose. Removal: Drain engine coolant (2 gallons). For additional information, refer to Section 303-03. - DO THIS FIRST - IMPORTANT Loosen the clamps and remove the charge air...

I hope I didnt screw up. Give me some good words!

The owners manual states that 10W30 is "acceptable" to 90 degrees (not past) but 5W40 is preferred at temps above 30F. There are no statements made as to the acceptability of 10W30 when working the engine hard (ie towing) and it implies that in temps over 90 degrees, it should not be used. In...

I hope I didnt screw up. Give me some good words!

I am very familiar w/ that thread. You still have not answered why a 5W40 shearing to 30 weight is bad and STARTING w/ a 30 weight is good. Frankly I don't believe there is a good response to that. A 5W40 oil is still OK when sheared to a 30 wt. The only bad thing about it applies to a...
