It takes about 15 minutes to make one cap after I get it up and running. The first part takes half hour or so to get the tools in the machine cutting size.
I did not know they were offset for higher flow. One of the caps.I had at work to copy was a factory original gray cap the hole in the port was about .20 diameter but right where it met the body of the cap it was about .08 this was on a dead end cap. The ones I made have a .21 hole through the...
I was taken off of the machine I was making the caps on a few months ago. I bounced around from machine to machine for a while. But recently I was trained on a intergrex a lathe/mill this thing is cool!! Made a few caps tonight. How do they look? Is this design OK or is it better to have...
I ran across this article recently I found interesting about glow plug removal.

I hope that link works
The heim joint fix gives you a much smother feeling clutch it like a different truck when you do this. You do not have to pull any of the dash apart you just go under the.dash and remove the push rod. You will need a special tool to remove the push rod.
I have not made any push rods yet...
Just put a new glow plug solenoid and all new glow plugs on my truck. When I press my glow plug button the solenoid buzzes. If I unhook the glow plug harness it will just click. Bad solenoid? Never heard one make noise before. Its a standard brand solenoid if that makes any difference.
This is the best picture I could get. Basically you cut the eye end off the shaft and thread it to put a joint on. I was going to make some up but there was no interest so I never made any.
I have searched and read a bunch of glow plug stuff but can't find what I am looking for so here we go.
Little about my problem
1993 f350 push button glow plugs wired up following the tec article removed white wire and put a wire to a switch in that location. They have been on a push button...
Do I need to hook up all the extra wires coming out of the controller to my new solenoid if I am doing a push button? Or just hook up the keyed power the ground wire with my push button the constant 12 volt power and glow plug wires?
Thanks everyone for your help
New solenoid ordered. Just going to wire it up with a push button I like that better than having the glow plugs run when the key is on. Might add a light on the dash that goes on when the glow plugs are burning so I will know if the solenoid ever gets stuck on again.
Every one came out nothing broke all went great with the removal. The burned out plugs are all marked beru I don't think I will ever run a different brand.
Well all of my glow plugs are burnt out. Now I just need to figure out why did not have enough time to dig into it any farther today. How dose this go from working glow plugs to 8 junk ones over night? Maybe I will just do a starter solenoid and be done with the factory controller.
So far I put a voltage meter on the wires that supply power to the glow plugs with them all plugged in and I had 11.8 volts then I pressed the button and it went up to 12.2 and there was only a slight click at the solenoid. At that point I took the main power wire off until I can do some more...
Have not checked them yet but I am sure they are. truck would not start and then found out I had 11.8 volts to them all the time with the key on so just thinking they are junk. Just want to go through everything and make it work better.
The plastic around the ends that goes to the glow plugs is falling apart so I am going to put together new wires. Dose it matter what type of wire I use?
