From what I have found the plastic caps are not very consistent with the inner diameter. Some are egg shaped and some are bigger and some smaller. The original gray caps are the best from what I was measuring.
I have not made any T caps yet. This might be a dumb request but can some one post a picture of the plastic t cap? Every truck i am working with are NA trucks.
well slowly slowly moving forward on this little project. I got dumped on with so many side jobs the last few months I did not hardly have time to make what I wanted to make. I just finished up two more sets of aluminum caps one set for my dad and one set for a friend that's also a member on...
I finished up the install and hooked up my guage today. I drove the truck about 10 miles at 55mph and only seen a reading of 185 for temp. My factory guage don't move much either. It was about 35 degrees out.
I have a new thermostat and water pump to put in we will see what it is after...
I am sure this has been covered on here but I cant find what I was looking for.
I am planning on adding a water temp guage to my truck. Along with new water pump, thermostat, coolant filter and swapping the radiator.
I was going to go with a z series auto meter to match my egt gauge but...
Zf5 s 5-42 transmission out of a 1992 fsuperduty. Shifted good through all gears but would not always like to go into reverse. Truck had about 165000 miles on it when it got pulled apart. It will also be missing one inspection cover I am keeping the pto.
Parking brake assembly was bought...

I am still here. Aluminum caps still on my truck and still working good. Its about a 3 hour process to make a full set of caps and i just have not had the extra time at work to make any recently. Sorry this is taking so long.
Typical Wisconsin truck mid winter. There is so much salt on the roads right not there is a salt dust cloud that gets kicked up when you drive.
I looked at the clean southern truck and could not resist.
I have my trucks glow plugs wired up to a push button and it has been working great. I have the factory wate to start light wired in and I added a extra light on the hot side to know when the plugs are getting power. Kind of a safety to see if the solenoid sticks on like last time so l don't...
So far the caps on my truck are working great. They have seen about 100 degrees down to-7. I run my truck almost every day I have not touched them since I put them on. No leeks and now that I have good working glow plug system truck starts in a few seconds of cranking.
