A better option would be to go to Azone and buy a lifetime warranty GPC. I dont normally recommend electronics from Azone but I have had good luck with their glow plug controllers.
10 min fix. The 7.3 style gp system will be better than any push button jerry rigged setup.
What the hell is that? Your truck have bad Mexican food....:rotflmao.
When I bought my rig, engine always ran real cool. I finally got around to replacing t-stat and it had broken as well. One of the 3 braces ended up breaking. It looked exactly the same as yours so it must have been the same...
Good trucks, but yeah the 5.3 loves to burn oil. Seems like all gm engines love to burn oil for some reason. You go to the dealership and mention it to them, and they tell you “oh that’s normal” :wtf:
If your still unsure about the decision, give Mel another call. But all n all, a baby moose will provide your engine with plenty of fuel for your turbo application. I like to play safe when it comes to egt’s. Ask me how I know lol.
Had to tear down & rebuild my new engine with 500 miles on it...
Well looking at 3 pages of posts and multiple recommendations from many members, I think the consensus is that a baby moose would be a good choice for your application.
If it is nothing that has been mentioned, then it must be foreign material that does not belong in the engine.
If your pressure hasn’t improved with an oil cooler & oil pump swap, sounds like it may be time to tear into that engine. Can’t think of anything else at this point. The oil pressure...
I had no problem hitting 13psi and keeping egt’s below 1200 with the baby moose & 088 turbo.
It’ll put out the power for ya.
If you have an upgraded/bigger turbo, I would go with the junior.
I bet lol. Got one on my YJ because PO had it on there when I bought it. I recently took off the cold air intake and found dust in the tube.
Going to toss that thing in the trash soon and buy an AEM.
If you want to go with OEM, a good old Fram should do the trick and they seem to filter well.
The best stock filter would be WIX IMO.
The best performance filter would have to be AEM dryflow in my books. They are awesome filters compared to K&N.
No, a little oil coming from the CDR is nothing to worry about. Even if you have a new one, you will will find small traces of oil that will pass thru it. It’s normal
Hmm mine had a white slip inside with torque specs and all that good stuff. Even had a little tube of assembly line.
Either way it should be fine if you leave em alone.
Sounds like your asking the right questions. My experience with parts store clerks hasn’t been all that great. Lots of their knowledge seems to be made up. Don’t know much about copper gaskets but torque specs should have been in the ARP box, which is 80 ft lbs if I remember right.
