I use Lubriplate on my engine rebuilds and on mega horsepower gas compression( think 18” bore X 22” strokex12 cylinders) and have never been disappointed...... ran a worthington engine for 15 minutes, tore one cylinder down to check ring orientation and found lots of lubriplate on the rings...

Has anyone converted their R12 AC to 134a?

I've had my '89 F-250 converted and it works soooo good! I think part of it is because my fan clutch stays engaged... In the heat of the hottest day I MIGHT get to 180* engine temperature. . I know that the loud fan roar may be annoying but my little truck stays cool. On 100* days Ive seen...

    Help with clutch linkage

Well darn it!! I managed to crank on the dog-leg lever with a big enough crescent wrench and got it off. But all was not well with the world after I re installed the new part. Apparently I did not "clock" it correctly and now when I push in the clutch pedal the tranny won go into gear...

    Help with clutch linkage

Ok guys, I bought the part of the clutch linkage that sits above the accelerator pedal. It has a dogleg on one end and and a knob on the end . The knob end engages the clutch master cylinder rod, and it is worn off, causing a dangerous problem. Well, my problem is I cant get the old one off...

    surprising mileage.

I was talking to mechanic buddy of mine , complaining of the crappy mileage in town. I explained that I got maybe 12 mpg..... He asked me what rpm I shifted gears, I replied about "2,000 rpms".. He said: that big 7.3 wont have any problem pulling you around, try shifting it at about 1,200...

How do y’all like to shift your ZF5’s?

I have a 4.10 diff and I don't see any problem starting out in 2nd. I think the 2nd gear ratio is good enough to take off when empty. Even with the close ratio tranny 1st gear is too steep. I can take off pretty quick in 1st but this is not a car transmission either. I would prefer a 5...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Dane what were your RPMs and what size tires are you running? I think with stock size tires, mine will probably top out at 85-90 . Never have topped it out. My buddy told me once that if you can keep a diesel engine at 1500 - 1800 RPMs the theoretical life span of a diesel is around 1 million...
